Anyone else getting brutally raped by the reimbursement program? I already have to front $1,300 a month for lunch and learns. Now I have to pay an additional $800 a month in gas before seeing the money back in my bank account. Since we are no longer being compensated bi weekly for gas, my bank account is suffering. Especially this month with taxes due. I've spoken to other reps who are in the same boat and we all need to find side gigs.

Would be a game changer to have gas card and company cars.

The car program is terrible. I agree they need to provide gas cards along with the allowance and reimbursement for miles to cover the depreciation, insurance and maintenance
Obviously, nothing is going to change here for the better, they already screw us over with the bonus plan, and now the car program. I can't wait to leave this place.

I’ve said it before and I’ll share it again... my side gig is a travel companion. Don’t judge.

Floating $1,000-2,000/month in car and lunch expenses.

Wow no company car, gas card, or corporate card?

a recruiter just called me about an opening here. I do need a job but dam, this sounds horrible

No, no and no. Also when the recruiter quotes a bonus of 20-30k. That’s only for the #1 rep in the country. Forced ranking. The quotas are the same for every territory regardless of managed care favorability or mid-level practitioner CII prescribing restrictions. Heavy handed management. Constant threats of PIP and firing regardless of rank. It gets old fast. That’s why we have such high turnover. Proceed with extreme caution. Good luck!

We just got company credit cards so I wouldn’t believe the person above, they clearly don’t work here or don’t any longer.

The recruiter said no company credit card. Who’s telling the truth?

We just got them 2 weeks ago... maybe they didn’t tell the recruiters yet. I honestly liked no company card.... then you could get points using your personal card. I also like being able to buy any car I want as well. I mean I’d take a company car too but it doesn’t bother me either way. I’d probably have a personal car anyways so this saves me the payment. That’s how I look at it

Is the car allowance industry standard? $750 non-taxed and run through Concur like other companies?

    no

How much is the car allowance?

it varies depending on location but it’s probably like $500 plus mileage and gas so like $1500 a month

$500 untaxed is low. That’s not enough to cover the car, routine maintenance, insurance and tires. Fun fact for the amateurs out there, you don’t factor in mileage when talking about a car allowance.

I would run if you are not unemployed, looking for a bridge job or just looking to get your feet wet in the industry. This place sucks!!! Managers suck!!! Specialty sucks!!!

    Run Forest Run!!!

Nah, it’s not that bad. I’m working elsewhere as a 1099 and working here as a w-2. Paid vacation and holidays. They pay my gas for my 1099 job. Same customers too. It’s a sweet double dip.

The thread was started in April, long before company credit cards were issued.

The territories are so large that the car allowance is no where near enough. Also, don't let the recruiters fool you about bonus either, no one is making anything unless you are top 5 and you hit both products. Most of the managers are a-holes (a couple of good ones). I'd recommend reaching out to former reps on LinkedIn for whatever territory you're applying for and ask them yourself.
