Even as top leadership is toxic and continues to struggle, it's up to the rest of us to decide to make it a decent place to work. Is it super difficult at this point? YES. Is it easy to lose hope, give up, or leave? YES. But what if we ignored all of the leadership issues and decided to succeed in spite of them? I think it can be done. Whatever "corporate culture" exactly is, it used to be really good at Avanir. I completely identified with this article (link): People quit organizational cultures, here's why

 

Just look at the RBMs who have left us. In the west, we lost RW, DM, SK. Since Nadine got here, the best have left. So what's the Avanir culture - make life miserable to the best people leave. If you have no interest in keeping your best happy, what the hell good are you? She's so full of herself and her big pharma self-righteous, I'm so smart and fake, that I know what's best here. Of course former fake blonde, still fake chest Jen in HR who is qualified to work at Hooters, but not run HR still runs HR! How can someone so unqualified be in such an important position? Between Nadine and Jen - there is the explanation why the culture here has gone to total shit. Thank you ladies!

 

HR at Avanir is run by inexperienced women good at throwing parties and that is about it. Completely unable to address the issues of why people leave the company, hiring in then people whose behavior would never be acceptable anywhere else.
