I have so many mixed emotions as to take the Veep Package or not. Last years Serio would have been so much better.

Get over it. Last year's offer is gone. In exchange for not taking it, you got an extra year of income. Move on from thinking that the previous offer was better because it doesn't exist anymore. Do what you think is best for you and your family based on the current situation. Looking back and going "man I wish..." does not help anyone. Best of luck.

I really don’t see how last years veep package was better?

Exactly! Please explain how Serio is better than VEEP. Do either of the first two posters know the details of the programs or are you fishing for information?

Wow. People - I said I had mixed emotions about taking the package. Serio is a thing of the past, I was stating a fact that last years package would have been better for me because of my age/bridging pension. The extended time really doesn't matter in my case. To everyone PC rep, I wish you good luck.

Not sure I understand pension is still part of the package. You got another year and more weeks plus pension. Yes it is a hard decision but I don’t see the difference in Serio/Veep. In fact the Veep is better.

It's a standard package. The package I'd different for people still in pension program. Anyone else that didnt get grandfathered into pension and meet age requirements set in 2012 and their pensions frozen.

Main difference is that if you were pensionable and took SERIO, they beefed up your pension. My pension went up 30%. Otherwise no difference. Still got 78 weeks for 28 years tenure

Similar experience here for my SERIO:
    • beefed up Sanofi lump sum pension
    • profit sharing lump sum (legacy co)
    • traditional monthly pension (legacy co), lump sum not available option
    • maxed out severence for 78 weeks
    • retirement enabled roll over of TRP 401K as lump sum
    • roll over of all lump sum retirement funds into IRA

I get 104 weeks, lump sum pension payout, and lump sum cash balance plan. I’m thrilled!!!

I was offered SERIO last time and VEEP this time. The plans come out to be about the same from my calculations and my own scenario. The extra weeks of severance well make up for the “bridge” offered with SERIO. It’s a very good package. No gain in continuing to analyze both packages you only have one to consider. Consult with a financial planner before 5/22 deadline and inform yourself thoroughly before passing on a great option.

I want the VEEP package. How do I get it. My management has been has been trying to push me out for a while. This year bonus and LTI sucked for me but my younger counterparts seemed to do just fine.

You get the VEEP package if it’s offered to you, not because you whine about it. You probably aren’t very good at your job in the first place.

That’s funny. I thought it was called the “deep package”. I guess you get that package every day you work for Santa-fee.

Word to the wise. If you're offered the package, take it...you'll be out of a job come Sept anyways.

Another benefit of taking the VEEP besides the money is never having to hear or see that idiot Kukulia talk about how Soliqua will save the world! If I have to hear about another MVA or how our Docs “just don’t get it” I’m going to jump off a bridge
