Is this illegal?

    How about when a certain device company needs to show improved numbers on some products before the end of a quarter and they artificially inflate the numbers. For example suppose there is some item that is worth approximately $10,000. They tell hospitals that they will give them one of the $10,000 dollar devices if they will order 20 disposables that only cost $275 each.

    The hospital would never order the 20 items but they do it for the expensive item and it artificially inflates sales of the disposables.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question, if this scheme is being perpetrated by a public company it may be violating SEC regulations. The person that comes forward might qualify as a whistleblower but would need additional information to properly assess the matter.
