Recruiter tried selling me hard on this start up. Great base salary, options, yada yada yada. Then we get to to the name of co and as I looked them up I saw Mike C’s mug as vp of sales. That was it. Full stop. Say no more

Told the recruiter I’d never work with this moron again. He’s that bad. The funny crazy part is the recruiter said that a couple of other candidates had a similar reaction to this schmuck.

Agree. Mike C is a dumbass and a liability to pharma. Good luck Xeris trying to recruit talent. Nobody wants to work with this idiot.

This guy sounds like a joke. Unreal they’d hire someone with no diabetes experience. I checked his profile and he’s low on retail experience too. This tells me the company is poised to be sold after approval. After two buyouts, I’m not gonna stick my neck out for a short lived opportunity.

C’mon people. Mike’s not bad to work with if you’re a white middle aged guy that acts like a hillbilly from time to time as I do when I’ve had one too many.

But all bets are off if you’re black, latino, Asian, Jew, middle eastern any shade under the rainbow or the worst offender an unattractive female that’s smarter than this red neck.

In our current climate as a society, if you are any of the latter go to any other company and they will hire you almost regardless of qualifications. You can have one too many any time, day or night, and still be un-fireable.

Got excited to hear from recruiter about this oppty. But I can’t find any thing positive about this Mike or the company.

    Any serious insights?

I agree this is a very interesting opportunity. I don't know about this person, but sometimes people come on Cafepharma just to trash someone. It is interesting that both threads here are about Mike. These posts may and may not be true, but it will be more interesting to meet the manager I would work for. There have been many sales managers and upper management in the companies that I have worked with that are awful. If I have had a good manager, I have a buffer and things can be ok. If you happen to know anybody at Shire I would contact them and see what they know about him. There are very few really great products to represent in the marketplace and this thread won't keep me from pursuing this one.

You must be the recruiter. But Mike has a long standing bad rep that brings a big stain to an otherwise interesting opportunity. I don’t do my reasearch here in CP because people do trash others here oftentimes unfairly. I just know for a fact that this guy is an idiot and it doesn’t reflect well on the management. Just look at the stock performance since this rocket scientist joined. This one is not gonna make it.

The VP of sales doesn't usually have that big an impact on a stock price. He has a pretty choppy work history so maybe he is gone in a year or two. Has anyone been quoted a salary range on this one?

True that. VP of sales has zero impact on stock price. That is until earnings time comes around and they haven’t sold squat because Mike hired minions like him that think they know how to sell in diabetes, or when they offend diabetes patients because they don’t know how the space works or when they get in trouble with the government for their stupidity. That’s why he’s got a choppy work history. Gone in a year or two with that track record? Yeah, right.

Assholes always find jobs in this industry. It is a given.

Sounds like the above dodged a bullet.
