Oh ok I see what you are saying! I sure hope you are right! Even though I don’t make as much I’d sure like to keep my job!

I would love to think that they would handover the respiratory line to us. However, that is a lot of severance they would have to pay out. I honestly don’t know if it’s a benefit to them or not because of the severance. Anyone familiar with how all of that works?

If the Breo contract would last another few years, then it would be cost effective since severance would only last about a year for the most tenured reps. But you gotta consider that not all of the GSK reps would qualify for severance for that long. In the long run, GSK would save money by having the contract sales force long term.

What’s apparent is that the GSK reps are clearly threatened by our presence and probably think it’s only a matter of time before they get shown the door one way or another. Can’t say I blame them with what they’ve witnessed in recent years.

I agree that some GSK reps feel threatened. We all know that 2020 is the magical year that GSK put out there for their respiratory division. While I tend to feel that we will be cut by the end of this year, one of my GSK counterparts feels that it will be them who will be cut. She said she once worked on a contract where the manufacturer cut all of their reps and gave the products to the contract salesforce. That seems like a lot of severance to pay out, but I was also surprised when Breo was handed over to us. Any thoughts?

Severance is not a deterrent. This is the approach that most pharma companies are taking. Why would GSK be different. Much easier to manage long-term finances this way.

Today’s a good day to be on this contract and if you are, you know why.
Any idea when/if we might be getting raises to our base pay?

Why...Because we got a small bonus?

    Our “bonus” is laughable!

No, just wondering if the contract gives annual increases or if we stay where we are for the duration of the contract.

As far as the bonus, as long as the annual target is what was in the offer letter, we can’t complain. I would just rather equal quarterly targets as opposed what they are doing now. And of course more is always welcomed.

GSK....a stupid co. I sold Advair for Syneos in 2016 and the Breo reps went crazy when I was increasing my market share, they were hiding my samples and telling me what to do....I had docs I have know for over 17 years tell me that I was doing tooooo good of a job...as the BREO reps where whining...I had the DM of GSK call me..and I could see where they were going and I told him your not my boss....call my mgr. I like working for them, it was the funniest thing ever. FYI: I came out of one docs office and 2 of my tires were flat.

just saw on the GSK board that they plan on getting rid of us after Q3 to boost Anoro and Trelegy sales. Thoughts? Possibility or just someone stirring the pot? I would think it would be less expensive to have us promote the Ellipta line instead of GSK

Well, we have had two reps leave our district and we were told that they are not going to replace them. What’s that tell you?

Well maybe since Syneos reps are doing so well with Breo and GSK needs Anoro and Trelegy sales bolstered, GSK should get rid of their highly paid sales reps and give Anoro and Trelegy to Syneos! Just sayin’ ! Why keep GSK reps anyway? We can do it and bring their costs down!

True, but that’s only wishful thinking. The reality is that we’ll all be unemployed in 90 days. Use your time wisely.

Simply not true, haters gonna hate. Syneos will be taking the entire ellipta portfolio.
