Is this just renamed from Stryker Navigation?

Yes that's correct. Division needs a whole lot more than a rebranding.

Had a recruiter reach out and thought I'd at least listen. What's the deal?

75k base + smaller commissions until you are comfortable dropping your base for 100% commission. Long sales process. 3rd on the market behind Medtronic and brain lab. Total grind position. Great reps and people in it. But they work very hard for everything they get.

is it true that they also are not reimbursed for any aspect of their daily business expenses?

This is true. The Stryker way. "Why should we pay for you to run your business?" Not sure I agree with it completely. It does depend on territory though. Smaller territories sometimes get $1000 a month.

Don't navigation reps have multi-state territories? So a 500 mile round trip, for a large capital sale, which could take multiple 500 mile round trips to close, is out of pocket? And didn't the tax laws change so you are no longer allowed to write off your mileage every year? Should put a huge asterisk next to the 'at plan' $ amount, that's ridiculous.

From what I understand, yes. Of course, depends on territory. Some get an AMEX but generally only the expansion territories. The whole tax write off change has been a topic of discussion for all divisions.

Sure. If by discussion you mean talking about how nothing is going to change. Stryker doesn’t care about our expenses. And they definitely don’t care about the employees. Stryker is going full Medtronic...pay going down, micro managing going up....AND they don’t have to pay expenses?!?! Wow. What a humbling honor it is to “run my own business”....

Hahahahaha....tax write off change. Tax write off change?! Talk about delusional.

Bottom line: if this is your first job out of college, Stryker is a great way to break into med device. You’ll make six figures. Maybe you’ll get lucky and have a territory that’ll grow and make you money. If it’s not already saturated.

Obey, or be gone. Wait until MAKO is used for popping pimples.

Passed on the AGT position. Was told 95 draw then goes to 100% commission. Just wasn't the right time in my case.

In regards to mileage, I know of one rep (senior) who gets reimbursed for mileage. Not sure how common it is across Stryker but I know for a fact he/she is getting reimbursed.
