Is Alcon now by itself or is it still under Novartis? Are these new positions and new recruiters recruiting?? I feel like they've been hiring since last summer.. Whats the deal?
Alcon will be officially a standalone company on 9th April 2019; Novartis family will still keep a small ownership stake (2-3%). The hiring is to beef up the services Alcon will need to stand alone - since all Novartis shared services (IT, HR, Finance, etc.) will be lost upon spinoff.
Is the Alcon workforce now stable? As in, layoffs are done (for now at least) and Alcon is in 'steady state' for the next 6-9-12-18 months at least? And, have the overpaid NBS personnel been removed from Alcon?
The more things change the more some things stay the same, heard selection group passed by a few good candidates and they choose from the deeper end of the talent pool that have no eye experience.
If you were laid off by Novartis and accepted the severance package you still will be ineligible for rehire a lot of the positions still fall under the Novartis blanket. Losing out on a lot of good people.
Iām confused, a recruiter called me about an Account Manager position for Alcon. She said it was a great opportunity to be part of Novartis? Is this company still under the Novartis umbrella or is this recruiter dumber than a box of rocks?
