As they say karma is a bit##. Those who are high and mighty in their judgement better watch out. Anything can happen at anytime to anyone. One of the laws of the universe. I have seen it happen plenty of times and learned to be less judgmental. Maybe you’ll get the axe in the next round.

A 64 year old with 37 years of service in this industry should not need to go on unemployment. Period. There should be no financial need at that point. Period. The entitlement attitude rationalizes that “I paid into it so I am owed”, regardless of need. This is obvious folks.
Enough of that. What about the comment regarding Anoro going to AZ? What’s the story there?

Amen! Amen!! It’s a bad mistake to stay this amount of time with a company today in these current times!! Movement is good. I am also guilty of staying too long, but I’m networking and interviewing and learning so much. I appreciate the person who said don’t put your head in the sand. That person is urging us to wake up and take control of our lives. That was actually very caring. Thank you for the post.

It's insurance...and he has been paying that premium. Ignorance isn't bliss. It's a choice.

Wow...Don't work for GSK but always interested in the goings on at other places. Usually don't respond but felt the need.
Well, aren't you just the most holier than thou PoS. Where do you get off tell a person of 64 w/ 37 years of service to GSK that he/she is a welfare king/queen? Everything they did was above board and "legit". Calling them bottom feeders? GFY.
Oh and I have no doubt that person still has their pride you sanctimonious a-hole.

Anyone who worked 37 years in this industry, making the money we do, and feels that they are still owed $ by the government has a welfare entitlement attitude of.
Now - if you don’t work for GSK get off this site and do something productive with your holier than thou life.

You are a jerk! Why do you even care? Unemployment benefits are different from welfare and other government benefits.

Every time I look at the statement from Gsk with my 200+ K severance I will think of you darling. And the unemployment for six months was just gravy! Now pack your car, do your reports for your manager, kiss some ass, Worry about your next ride along, and load up with your hot pockets to feed the heffers. You sorry bastard, may God watch over you and other dumb animals! LLLOOOLLL!

Get on Linked In, polish up your resume for reals (you haven't had to interview for twenty plus years) and start the very arduous task of finding a new job. Once you are out, you will realize what a toxic, immoral wasteland this company is and you will enjoy your career again. Spoken from the happiest person ever, still counting her severance $ in the bank. Started a new career immediately after GSK stopped my salary, since I knew it was coming and I got a jump on the job search. I never had to touch unemployment because I was not an ostrich last summer...but I certainly would have deserved it to recover from the mind games and morale-stripping I endured working for this company for WAY TOO long. My advice: don't be an ostrich! You will be competing against other GSK reps who are still unemployed from last round.

Totally agree with last post! I actually moved to our Benlysta team. Completely different culture and level of respect. If you are in Primary Care, get out asap! You will not regret it! Not for a minute! So well said..GSK had me doubting my ability constantly! And they did it such a predatory way. They abused their positions of power over and over! I tell you with complete honesty, get out as soon as you can...you will never look back..other than to question yourself as to why you tolerated the mistreatment for so long. All the best and Gods speed!

Please stop using entitlement as if it is welfare. Just the definition means the person is entitled to it (SS, Medicare, unemployment ). Welfare & Medicaid are not entitlements but the term is used as such.

Anyone care to read between the lines during Emma's Town Hall? The focus was in three areas. Shingrix and Vaccines. Dovato and VIIV. Oncology / Immunology. Trelgey was really an afterthought. I keep telling myself that respiratory will be here in five years. After the tone today I no longer feel that way. How in the world did we get here?
