I'm perfectly willing to work WITH my KAM NOT FOR. They are not my direct report and shouldn't be telling me what to do. This is a team effort. I have launched drugs in the hospital before and more than qualified. Turns out, way more qualified than many of the KAMS that were hired. Many of my titles have been similar to KAM, and I got the drugs on formulary, dealt with all the C suite executives, trained, and sold. No offense to the KAM's but this is an industry first where they gave two separate titles to the sales people. I'm disgusted that certain employees were hired as KAM's yet have zero hospital experience. How could RBD's hire reps that had no previous hospital experience? Strange to say the least. That should have been a minimum requirement of having launch experience in the hospital. I have been told the difference's in salary between TBS and KAM is anywhere between 30-40K. I find this staggering and infuriating, considering I have supplied my KAM with all the hospital contacts and set up many appointments for them. We should all be making roughly the same amount of money. I am equally working to set up sites of care, so what is the damn difference? My KAM told me they are NOT sales people and gave a snobby response as to not doing demeaning lunches. I am disgusted by this comment. They even said it in a patronizing way. Guess what? YES YOU ARE. When we launch, all KAM's should be marketing this product to physicians everywhere. When the sites of care are established, if you are not sales people, then what the heck will you be doing with yourself? The territories are very very large and they will have to hit the pavement and sell just like all the rest of us.
What happens when all sites of care have been established? What will distinguish between the jobs? This was a terrible idea creating two separate positions. We certainly don't need more RBD's. They are already breathing down our necks.

I really couldn't agree more. What's done is done. But at least treat us like your equal.

there have been some questionable hires for sure. I’d be shocked if the salary amounts are that different. I’d expect maybe $10,000. I’ve seen some KAMs who have a superiority complex without a doubt

You're way off in your thoughts. The differences in bases average around $30,000, with some higher than that. Everyone talks.

well mine isn’t worth that. I guess that why TBS’ are being treated like second class citizens by the KAMs, RBDs and upper management.

KAMs base salary starts at 150k up to 200k, not sure what the range is for TBSs. Regardless, TBSs do not work for KAMs. OneSage, we are a team.

I have top put my two cents in. YES, THAT IS THE SALARY RANGE FOR A KAM. Don't be an idiot. People talk. This includes people that did not accept their offers. The average difference between a TBS and KAM is $30,000.

KAMS are paid more for a reason. Our sales abilities are far superior to normal off-the-shelf reps. Our ability to deal with difficult situations, and to see things you guys can’t see, and then put everything together is what separates us from the ordinary sales rep. Work hard, and some day you just my join the elite forces of the KAM!

The KAM's better get out there and sell. The TBS's are doing everything. Guess what? You're sales people and actually need to start selling.
