I was hoping the Cafepharma moderator could help me understand some of the rules around posting. I have posted some comments recently on a thread that were critical of someone's management style, but were not posted. I did not use curse words; I did not attack the person as a person--simply their management style and philosophy; I was not hurtful or mean--nothing was posted that I have not shared personally with the person. My comments were not included in the thread, and yet--I constantly see postings that include foul language, hurtful and even hateful comments, and flat our lies. Please help me understand what the criteria are for comments that are not "accepted" for posting. Do some people get a "pass" on any negative comments while others do not warrant that protection?
I would like to keep using the website, but I would appreciate any help in understanding why some comments are posted and others are not. Thanks!

I too am confused on the moderator's guidelines to posting. I've seen inappropriate threads published yet mine are not & have had no foul language or attacks

No doubt the manager has anything removed that even hints it is him/hwe

These managers make enough money to bribe someone at CP to delete anything with their name attached. There are ways! Make no mistake folks!! ;-)

Maybe you should consider being a total jackass and also consider being brutally honest. I think you might be pleased with the outcome.

We remove posts that include posting violations when we become aware of them. We do not review all posts on the site, so there may be some posts that include posting violations that have not been reviewed. When we do locate them they will be removed.

Of course I am not sure why your posts were removed or not published. It is possible that human error is to blame. However, foul language and personal attacks are not the only reason posts are removed.

I think a quick review of posts on the site will confirm that we do allow a very broad range of free speech on the site. Our moderation decisions are made with the intent to keep the site usable and to prevent obvious posting violations. If we have made an error, we do apologize.

each time I post there’s a message stating my post will be reviews by a moderator.

I’ve never used proper names only initials or job titles. Never cursed, yet several posts have been removed.

My questions is this, is there a reason each of my posts are reviewed?

    Appreciate CF feedback.

We realize that it can be inconvenient to have a post go through moderation before going live. However, to keep the boards anonymous, usable and free of spam it is necessary. We do keep this to a minimum and we review the queue frequently.

There can be a number of reasons that a post goes to the moderation queue before it goes live. Usually this is triggered by certain keywords or patterns. The words are not necessarily obscenities. Sometimes, for various reasons, all posts in a specific board or thread will go through the queue before going live.

Posts that include reference to specific individuals and posting violations (even if names are not used) are removed when we become aware of them.

We do apologize for any inconvenience.
