    Nelson & Chelsea

So apparent that your managers and abd’s don’t understand what the field is saying. Can we get a translator. Some of their actions certainly don’t line up with a new day

Curious as to what others go through. My manager is great. This job at any company depends on your manager and the level of micro managing they engage in. The best ones know how lead to and end up well respected and successful. Like Chelsea

Others go through having their managers or abd turn them into compliance after they have spent time with them. They also get micro managed. Death by spreadsheet. There are only 5 managers with more than 3 years of experience? LH wants to continue hiring from the outside after we have all expressed time and again we would like to see those from within WHC promoted. The abds are the ones who should be in development classes. They cannot be trusted

Bayer does not generally believe in promoting from within. One of the main reasons is because they like to hire their butt-buddies. Most managers do not like to have someone under them that they did not hire. Bayer tries to retain people who are ambitious by putting them through their sham leadership programs and have them do busy work to make it seem like they have hope for promotion.

It's a shame that Bayer degenerated to this level. Before Bayer decided that coaching and people development was not needed we had succession lists, a virtual region to train and develop manager candidates, and it was very rare to see a first or second line manager hired from outside. This all went away when Bayer decided to jettison the FDMs

    bayer cry babies.....:(
The sales force cries because they know that no other company will hire them. They are not marketable as an overpaid commodity customer service rep. Instead of taking charge of their lives, they let us bully them, micromanage them & reduce their payouts... because we know they won’t leave. Their only recourse is for them to cry on cafe pharma.
If you are worth more, take charge of your life and get of the pharma!
    We love reading the pharma!

    Love,
    AP & LH

Pretty presumptuous of you to think we haven't already left or are in the process of leaving. Maybe we are sharing to help empower and mobilize others. Bayer tries to isolate employees and it can be very effective. This is what abusers do. I personally want them to know they are not alone, and they don't have to suffer.

The POA was a ridiculous pandering event! Chelsea and her “new day” is a farce! Remember - this is the same person who killed business in Boston, flamed out as an ABD by hiring pathetic managers in the west , then left. Now she’s back to fix it all? Don’t think so since the competition is killing us.

Completely true. Nelson you need to continue to observe everything on your own. You are not being told the whole story by the people that report to you. To truly fix the problem that has been haunting the WHC group is to change some of the players that are leading.

Yes! When 3 of LH vacancies will be filled with people outside WHC, you know they are not listening to anything about our culture. Entirely capable people in the western area stepped up to be part of the new day. LH doesn’t have time to ‘develop’ those individuals? WTF. None of them need developed by her anyway! They could easily have managed those teams. Such a big fat joke.

Yes and now she is back out west with help to interview yet again. When you had tons of internal talent how can this expense be justified? How is the turn over there not looked at? Grow talent is one of our buckets. It should be called pass over our own people. Then we would score an 80%.

Oh my! The tears and crying is killing me. So I am a newish rep. 1.5 years. This happens at other companies all the time. Turnover, both internal and external hiring is normal and a good thing. Need outside perspectives and ideas. Get over it. I love my manager! I’m a better rep because of her. She knows the business, challenges me to be better prepared for my sales calls, helps me prioritize, I leverage her with not so fun customers, and she gets things done. We don’t always agree, but we’re both good with that too because she let’s me own my own territory.

Do you know how many resources we have? Is unbelievable compared to my last few companies I worked at. As for the marketing bitching - Create your own patient profile with a good question- Anita and Jennifer can be 4-5 different patient types to tell and sell your story.

You’re not as good as you all think you are. This is called selling! Competitive selling! Strap up, target, call on customers that will move your business and stop with the service sell.

It will be easy to outrank the crybabies.
And by the way, nobody has all the business when another competitor comes to market. This is the real world in any market.

You sound “green” as opposed to “newish”, but point is, just because you happen to have a manager that is seemingly doing their job and you get along with, does not mean that is the norm here. You are making a blanket assumption that your situation is what other people are experiencing, and that is not the case. Try to open up your eyes a little and realize the world is not only seen through your perspective. Try to understand just because someone has a different view doesn’t mean you should put them down and try to say you are superior. However, if tunnel vision makes you feel empowered and cocky enough to state other people here are not as “good” as you, go for it!

Yes, by all means whip out a patient profile! It really is the cure to all that ails us!!!
