Everytime the word AMAZON is mentioned on Wall Street, the Cardinal stock price tanks and the bosses in Dublin plot how to keep their gigs--after they change their underwear due to the AMAZON induced sharts. Sad that so many loyal underlings were ignorant enough to purchase CAH in their 401k. A stock that hit 90 a couple of years ago is now below 50. Great investment..... and still opioid lawsuits and fines draining Cardinal's coffers. What a great company.

    Just Retired

Start now! You don’t want to be left on the outside when it will all hit the fan. It’s not a matter or if, it is when!!

You don’t want to say if I only took action when the first signs of trouble happened.

Go back to school, take a night class or online schooling. You need to come up with your next career choice NOW!!

Trust me, you’ll be miles ahead of those dolts with their heads in the sand!!!!!!

Cardinal stock price is now at a FIVE year low. How long will it take before it recovers by 10%? More personnel cuts will occur first. Freeloaders in the Ivory Tower, by all means necessary, will do anything to preserve their uselessness at Cardinal. Job cut announcements drive up stock prices. Stay tuned. As long as George "Jerry Garcia" Barrett is in any way connected with this company, beware. We've seen the departure of trash like Casey and Duffy. Why is George still polluting this company by his presence? Polish off and update your resumes my fellow Cardinalites!

seems like amazon bent on entering rx distribution to patients. That will disrupt
The local pharmacy. In turn the distributors could lose business as the pharmacies fall by the wayside like other retail establishments.
Margins in hospital rx distribution are very low, so hard to see amazon taking over there. The major distributors do a good job.
Medical product distribution to doctors is a questionable area. The margins are not at retail level . There are price shoppers to be sure. .There are also more people accustomed to ordering online, shopping online. If there is no value beyond price from current distributor amazon could gain.
There are large competitors that are entrenched . There are complexities to pricing, it’s not simple.
Amazon still needs to make a profit, unless they want to lowball for ten years, drive the competition out, then raise prices once they are the only game in town. Selling cotton balls at single digit margins to small businesses not a great long term strategy.
If I was a local pharmacist or chain pharmacy I would be ramping up my value to patients. Home delivery. Expanded hours , patient follow up.calls. You have to create barriers. Outreach to doctors, help them to be your partner.
Make it so your value exceeds what they can get online.
People who buy online don’t see the value of dealing locally . That is what needs to be addressed. Not by competing on price.

wouldn't be surprised if the medical division split from the pharma division sometime in the near future

Cardinal is drenched in corruption coupled with extreme incompetence emanating from Dublin. Changes are coming to somehow save this Pig--the lipstick has worn off.. Better update the resumes folks. Just saying.
