2019 Year of the AZ Shit Show? This is madness! its barely August and we're exhausted ... started the year with taining, more training, cross-training, "pivoting" like a mofo and choking on all the analytics/matrix/FSIP "good intent" that ruined Q1 IC . And then there's the sleeve priorities ...
Leadership says sell Symbicort like your life depends on it, sell Dali but don't get paid on it, sell Farxiga, now dont sell farxiga - toss it all! Talk CVOT DECLARE - but don't you dare open the plastic wrapped reprint or you're fired. Wait! don't talk about DECLARE anymore, talk about DSA heart failure in T2D to this pointless execution list of HCPs & sorry if VEEVA didn't track them all, and HEY everyone look over here & please ignore the massive generic disruption to the ics/laba market vol you're being paid on And Beat Breo! Yay! And we forgot to tell you- Beat the Nation too! Yay! (with no samples- Booo!) and GUESS WHAT?! you're "SO lucky" because now you're selling Farxiga AGAIN in Q4 !! So here's 5 wks more of training & don't forget the Symb refresh training at the same time.
You can't stop calling us Respiratory Inhaled - we know we're the reliable clean up crew for the no clue AZ shit show!

Wow. Well in a weird way I feel better. Misery must in fact luv company. Im fairly new to the diabetes team and it has been the most scattered marketing and management I've ever been associated with in my professional ( and unprofessional ) career. Sounds like the entire organization is on different pages at any given time and that we have far too many cooks in the kitchen in middle and upper level management. I've learned to simply say yes a lot and then just do the best I can to find time to sell with the few offices that actually will still see reps.

You've got it right. Smile, say yes, and go to the accounts that will see you. It seems as soon as you start making progress they change the priorities or the metrics so they don't have to pay you a bonus. Only ppl able to make any IC "money" in resp are RSTs who use us base reps slaves to call on their specialists (goals weighted 75% on them) while we're responsible for every hcp in our terr.

The OP is pretty much spot on. Brand teams are a constant round robin of young "wanna be's". Many only have a couple of years at AZ and relaunch things over and over with such vigor & excitement like the field has never seen it before. We smile, tell them great data (LOL), and go back to business as usual.

I am looking forward to the Symbicort refresh. Hopefully, they don't F that up. The diabetes stuff? Seriously guys? Your ROI w/ respiratory will not be great (just telling ya).

Just when we feel we have reached a new level low, we manage to go lower. Hopefully everyone gave these comments on the Focus Survey because one truly does have to wonder if anyone communicates in HQ. We wonder why the low score was on speaking up?? Really? Who are we going to tell that some of the crazy decisions being made just don’t make good business sense. If anyone reads anything in our industry outside of what the co gives on Nucleus, you know the entire industry is under fire and we will soon not be doing business the way we do it today. Just do the best you can with the resources you have available.

I love how your total worth is based on COE ranking and that is how you are judged at the end of the year but not every rep is on the same playing field. Example: Two partners calling on the same people.

Rep 1-DSA rep 103% to plan with Symbicort

Rep 2- Also 103% to plan with Symbicort but only 100% for Dali, and 100% Bevespi.

Rep 1 out ranks Rep 2 in the ranking. What kinda shit is that? You have to outsell your secondary products over your primary to even beat your own partner. AZ is so stupid or lazy. Not sure which.

Now, now. Let's think this through. I'm sure there is someone in leadership or a rep who wants desperately to become a part of leadership who can explain all of this so you are no longer frustrated, angry and confused. Please give them a chance to enlighten us.

Okay, take it away anyone in leadership or is a leader wanna-be! Sell us on how it makes sense and is not only just, but fair.

Seriously. Really want to read and know the story behind this from your knowledge and understanding of how the AZ system is designed to motivate us.

Be glad you are in respiratory and don't complain about the changes. Symbicort has great coverage and you can make an impact. Farxiga is covered under maybe 30-40% of the plans in my territory and I'm getting 20% bumps every quarter in quota. Love AZ and the drug, but I'm getting ready to hit the road. The company claims that they are making more money, but it's not helping me and I'm getting pressure beyond belief as to why I'm not hitting my numbers. I can outsell our competition, but can't help my offices get it covered. I would really question the person that runs managed markets or whoever makes the contracting decisions. It's killing reps in the field and people are getting fired for low ratings two years in a row when the company doesn't give them a chance.

Both actually. Everything at AZ is a dart toss or lottery at best. Don't try to make sense out of it because you can't.

If I sell the HCP and the product gets written, PAY ME! It's out of mine and the HCP's hands and the pt. doesn't get, can't afford or decides not to even get rx filled. My job is to get my product written. I held up my end of the deal. Give me credit for it! It's managed markets job to make the product available for the pt to obtain. Whether or not that happens is on MM, not me!

Another snowflake entitled idiot. Are you serious? You should get paid because the HCP wrote the script? This just might be the DUMBEST thing written in all the years of CafePharma. Putz...if the script isn't filled the company doesn't make any money and neither do you. Secondly, how can anyone track a script that leaves a doc's office and ends up in the trash? Grow up snowflake!

Man are you so on the money it's not funny. I've been around quite awhile in my 50's and understand what it is working for dear old AZ. I am surrounded by 20 something fools that think they are entitled to the world because they have a communications degree from NoWhere State U. I'd love to hear their complaints about the terrible working environment AZ is when they get fired. Oh well glad I don't have that many years to go working with these idiots.

LOL!!! You must be with the company for about a week or so. Everyone with more than a weeks experience knows YOU DON'T SELL! First of all, there are nineteen reps calling on the doctor for each product...who is responsible for the business? Secondly, you are NOT allowed to sell...you show a screen and leave a commercial. Third...if the drug isn't on formulary you have shit chance of getting the script filled. Even if the script is filled you have a 50-50 chance of it being tracked properly. Pharma "sales" isn't sales it is sort of marketing it is sort of an UPS drivers job and it's sort of a catering job. Fifty years ago maybe it was selling. Not today. If you want to be a sales person go sell stocks, houses, insurance or industrial products....where you eat what you sell. Stop kidding yourself. Oh I agree you must be a snowflake for such immature statements.

So true and so sad. It's a shame I've and many others have reached an age where no one else will hire us at the salary we are making so we must stay here and try and survive. This job has turned into a real joke on so many levels.
