There a so many ways they can get you. If your personal miles and business miles don't match up between your mileage log and ARI website entry , you are screwed. If you said on your log that you were in town ABC but ARI gas receipts show you were in town XYZ, you are screwed.
If your mileage entry at the gas pump isn't close to your mileage entry on your log sheets or ARI mileage entry, you are screwed.

RBMs are being told to look closely for inconsistencies between mileage logs and ARI records.

Complete and utter lack of trust!
If you have limited access in your territory, all that remains is an agent for-hire to follow your footsteps - easy enough with a gps tracking tool that you “volunteered” to download on your phone.
Probably won’t happen unless their is cause, but once again, if you have limited access and your sales slip - the “IRS required” tracking you daily work becomes all to convenient.

News flash.... the company cannot mandate that you install apps on your personal cell phone. iPad yes....cell phone no.

That is true unless they supply you a cell phone that is registered and billed to Sunovion. Your personal property cannot be managed or manipulated by the company ..... just like they cannot tell you what office furniture or equipment you need to maintain in your home.... unless they supply the equipment registered and billed directly to Sunovion.

Do not download the mileage app.

Bottom line is this company has awful unskilled and very insecure leadership. Creating trackers and managing metrics is all weak leaders know to justify their jobs. Very sad and pathetic but it’s the reality at Sunovion.

They can take this app and shove it sideways. Bunch of micro managing bastards.

If you feel that strongly just refuse the app, the car and the gas card. In the spirit of Area 51 activists “They can’t fire all of us”.

Wow they are really tracking company cars now? That place has such horrific leadership. Motto has always been we are not big pharma but we just follow exactly what they do. So glad I left that place.

Anyone get in trouble yet over this app?

This is obviously not mandated by the IRS because we are one of the only pharma companies tracking stop to stop mileage. So what’s the real reason? Are they looking to lay people off or get rid of people in the future and this would be a good way to do it?

Yes, you’re right about that. This is a Sunovion imposed method for mileage tracking. A few good companies out there recruiting hard w/o this onerous requirement. Shop around....you have choices. Monthly reporting is totally reasonable.

My take on life in Pharma (any company)
They decide whom to fire and then they work backwards. I’d guess 90% of us doing something on a weekly basis that is a fireable offensive. I never paid too much attention to the metrics b/c they don’t really get you on the fast track to being terminated, something else does and they use the metrics to rationalize the firing. Trust me, I’ve been fired twice in the last 5 years (including sunovion) and both times it wasn’t calls per day or where I got gas...
Ps. I’m still in the game making more money than ever..

why to go corporate. Launching an other useless tool that failed and wasted most of your sale reps time. So instead of selling they were all playing with a new log app that crashed and fUled multiple times today.
