I have spent 4 miserable years at this hell hole and have plenty of vacation time. I put in for a few days off with 4 weeks notice and my manager says she has the right to refuse approving this request? I have been over 100% every year that I have been here. Bye bye Quest.....I am done. LCA has contacted me at least 3 times regarding open positions. This is the worst company that I have ever worked at.

As per new rules -- > She does have the right to refuse, but did she actually refuse you?

the new vacation policy is a mess. All the managers that have control issues are letting this new power go to their head.

Every company requires that management approve time off. Sounds like you simply have an unreasonable mgr.

Hey Einstein, that's exactly the concern of employees.

Hey Thomas Alva...the OP identified the policy as the issue. The issue as described is not the policy but poor execution of it ( based on one side of the story)

There’s a simple solution to that, son. Become an employer. Take all the time off that you want, whenever you feel like it and let your employees do the same. Because that’s fair and the way the world should work, Then, all the best people will work for you, because you’re so fair and nice and everyone will be happy. Problem solved. Hope this helps.

That sounds like a great plan and you should be running Quest Diagnostics and not just an unemployed no body and a major ass clown. Hope this helps and you are welcome.

You idiots understand that unlimited PTO is to SAVE money, as in not having to pay “unused” time when someone leaves. Right?

No you're right. They are idiots and don't understand how this policy helps the company.

Only 5% of unused TOP/PTO was carried over to the next year. Huge savings.

You are not accounting for all the accrued time that was paid when people left.

Unlimited PTO is now common among many employers.
