While I love working for Styker, I'm no longer happy in the division I am in. My new manager is not a mentor or a leader. I'm less than 3 years in the industry and would like to continue to grow as a sales professional and it is not possible with my new situation. I have thought about going on cruise control and just collect my paycheck. I never hear from my manager, so it would be very easy to do. It is just not in my DNA and I want to continue to grow professionally. How easy is it to switch divisions or is it best that I just leave Stryker?
What division are you in? Crazy how different life can be in different divisions even though it’s under the same company
Why would you want to stay? You’ve obviously seen what they’ve been doing to all the divisions. Apparently Surgical is a train wreck after they split the division and flooded the country with reps. I could maybe see NS being a good spot, but that’s pretty much dependent on the territory. Which is essentially all that really matters in any division with Stryker. The company can no longer make the claim that they pay the most, which was probably true on average in the past. But not now. There is literally nothing that makes the company any better than any of the other behemoth device companies. Quotas get bigger, pay gets lower. Why would you think another division would be different?
You are very spot on! Medical division won’t let you switch. That’s just the way it is. You get black balled because it requires director approval, from what I’ve been told. Maybe another division will... but they get a hair across their ass for some reason when people want to improve their career. It’s sad, they just crush reps and continue to make choices that deplete income. I would however say I’ve heard good things about Neuro, but they also took a solid chop beginning of ‘19 too.
You’re 100% accurate on this. How DARE you want to do something different! Medical division loves to blackball folks. Pathetic.
