What Rob Lisicki Taught Me in 5 Minutes I Will Cherish For Life.

    To start things off, Rob has been bashed here on CP for ages. To be quite honest, I was skeptical in approaching him during the North Eastern Regional Conference.

    I saw Rob over at the Hilton lobby and walked up to him and introduced myself. He didn't know who I was; I wasn't surprised. His demeanor was very welcoming might I add, the man holds conversations very well. But what I learned from him will floor you.

    Rob and I spoke about the company - he shared openly the direction of DSI, drugs in the pipeline moving forward, as well as obstacles the company faces on a day to day basis. However regardless of the challenges, the North east has helped him dearly working collectively with district managers.

    He explained that the layoffs were intentional; smaller companies function better and this is the core of the DSI family. We're all working together as one family; our DSI family.

    He reads all the posts on CP and says they're hilarious.

    Rob told me many sales reps in the industry get too comfortable in their shoes and the numbers start dropping. He is actively looking for those who are dismissive with their daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals. DSI is working on proprietary technology to "sift and pick" those not meeting target or slacking off.

    I joked around and said what does it take to become a DM these days, he said "introducing yourself to the team and having the balls walking up to me is a start". We laughed and joked around some more.

    He then asked me one question and if you are still reading this, I'm sure your wondering what it was.

    He said, "when you came up to me, you came with a question, a question that you meant to ask for a while but scared to ask." He said "the question you want to ask has to do with you worrying about obscurity. This same question over 60% of DSI NE region has asked".

    Rob explained, if you live life thinking about obscurity, life will always be obscure to you. If you worry about if you will have a job in 3, 5, or 10 years - you will live in a state of obscurity. Instead shift your thinking of a winner and you will think about daily challenges and not challenges that only time will tell.

    This mentality is what got Rob his position as a VP at DSI. Position yourself as a winner and the world is yours for the taking. Whats obscure will always be obscure. Negative thinking will always attract negativity.

    Thank you Rob. I have to say I will always keep this as part of my mantra. We can do this DSI team. Mind over matter.

    Amgen rep here: Rob is a great stand up guy. You guys are lucky to have him. Miss the conferences with his speeches. He really pushed us up.

    I am very impressed with RL and KK and the direction they are taking the company. They treat us as the professional adults we are and I know it makes me more willing to do what I can to make this company succeed beyond earning dollars for myself. Keep up the good work!!!

    More like General Tso. Rob uses lots of General Tso's quotes to energize the team in sales meeting.

    rob was just a parrot at Amgen. Never had an original thought. Heard you picked up an HR guy Simon from Amgen. Will make changes to make himself look good...watch out.
