What’s up with the total scripted new Symbicort details that we had to videotape! The data is ok and psyched for the safety data..but the delivery is horrible! Are we now walking billboards? So much for following science and patient health first. Marketing team has really lost touch with reality on the way pharma is now. If we follow their direction we will look like what providers hate about pharma! Stupid!!
As a physician (who likes to come on this site for a few laughs), I can tell you that as a group, almost all physicians can tell when they are being fed Pharma scripted propaganda. To tell you the truth....it's just plain weird. We would much prefer a well informed clinical discussion of the pros and cons of any given product. You turn us off with your scripted presentations with an iPad. It's just plain weird....and stupid!!
Of course scripted presentations are down right stupid and INSULTING to a physician. The reason for this is that AZ is run by marketing and not sales. Marketing frankly does not trust sales reps to think and have a conversation with a provider. They feel the rep will go off label and put the company in danger. This is one major reason why pharma sales at least with AZ is mind numbing. I had a manager years ago who retired used to say all the time, "when the doctor is talking you have all the time in the world." Back then, the art of successful pharma sales was engaging the doctor in a meaningful discussion not only about product but about disease states. That, unfortunately is not the case anymore and one major reason why doctors avoid drug reps. Sales department needs to take ownership of sales away from marketing and hire PROFESSIONALS that can have a meaningful discussion with a provider. Until then, I'm afraid we live with this mess.
I love how this snowflake putz uses "us" like he or she runs the company. You cater lunch you drop off samples and you have a communications degree from Nowhere state U now shut the fuck up.
I remember when AZ flew us to Anaheim, CA--Disneyland! We had to memorize an incredibly l o n g scripted verbalization as a part of our training and certification for Symbicort. So memorized scripts are nothing new. Unfortunately they are mind numbing and ineffective to the listener--the doctors. But that was then and this is now. No one who bought in to it is still around to say, "NO! We did what the consulting company and leadership told us would work--scripted details--and it didn't work!" So, like little trained monkeys, we will obediently do what we are told and do it again. But of course, this time it will be effective--NOT!! Unbelievable BS!!!
AZ is a marketing run company not a sales run company. You need to understand this. Marketing, frankly does NOT trust the sales force to stay on label so they develop verbalizations. It is mind numbing to anyone with an IQ over 50. Doctors hate rote presentations as much as we all do. So doctors limit sales reps visits as they see little or no value with us. Everyone has two choices.....first leave and get a real job. Second....put up with all the bullshit and micromarketing and give the idiots what they want when it comes to metrics. Understand this shit and stop complaining. It's not going to change so live with it and get satisfaction OUTSIDE of Az. To me, this is just a job...nothing more lots of freedom great pay and very little work. I'm a great actor and my idiot DM buys my bullshit. I'll ride this baby out until the shit hits the fan and I have to find real work.
I didn't get any new safety data, just got tortured ten times on video taped detail of our ancient safety data analysis. What am I missing/???
I don't understand the point of video recorded details. Aren't the managers supposed to be observing us detail in the field & making suggestions? If they are going to do these recordings, they don't need the managers, do they?
