Looking at opportunities on the website and then checking LinkedIn and there are so many reps in the area already...are territories really that small? Other posts said management wants you making 8+ calls per day? What are you guys doing, calling on the same docs every single week?

There's also a lot of talk about micromanaging...what are they having you do?

Metrics are insane and so are goals. The 8 calls are based on certain targets that you may or may not be able to actually see. Any other calls are not counted unless they are part of that metric. Micro Management is a understatement. Everything you do will be questioned and every field ride, conference call and team call is an interrogation. Management changed last year. The company was a great place to work with a mission that made you feel like you were making a difference... now it’s checking a box and trying to stay off the naughty list. You will he forced to lie and be constantly stressed. Admin, which will comes in waves, can be a lot. There are no admin time. That has to be done on your own time. Expect weekends and nights full of extra work that is assigned at the last minute. Also, you are expected to be in the field from 8:30-4:30 with a lunch or breakfast everyday. People get called out all the time for personal dr appts, dropping kids off at school and incorrect data. If you haven’t accepted the job, you may want to continue to explore other options.

Once a great place a couple years ago and still can be but the imported Big Pharma mentality is horrible and damaging long term potential.

so true. It's sad how quickly someone can come in and poison the well. This once was a place where I was proud and would refer anyone to come work here. Under this leadership, I don't feel comfortable doing that any longer.

Wish I could disagree with all the posts, but cannot. All true!!!
The irony in this, Challenger is shoved down everyone’s throats, yet you challenge the micromanager and your history. I would strongly recommend that “some” of the management read a book. It would be topic about constructive coaching, or, how can I support your efforts. Or, Yes, I will go to bat for you because your a valued asset to our family. But, the book reads more like: Shit rolls downhill. Hmmm. More irony

Out of curiosity, are you referring to JJ? If so, his name is all over CP with similar claims from other places he's managed.
