Now this will be a very loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnng list.
The shorter list, probably only 10-15 would be good managers.

And even that is pushing it. If out management ranks weren’t so bad, this would be humorous, but it’s seriously, pathetic.

You “ding dongs” have 5 posts & haven’t named 1DM; wow, they’re must be a lot of them. If it weren’t for DMs, you pathetic losers would be sitting at home, trying to collect fat paychecks for nothing-now get back to work!

It’s interesting there’s not a lot of traction on this post. I’m not saying there aren’t
some bad managers, but trust me there are at least as many really bad reps as there are bad managers, the important difference being that primarily their ineffectiveness is primarily isolated to their customers. Think about it for a minute, if you were able to build a sales team how many people in your district would you draft?

You make a good observation, BUT, those same ineffective reps become ineffective managers. I would agree that, percentage wise, there are at least as many ineffective managers as there are ineffective reps. But isn’t that a manager’s job to coach and develops effective reps.
Think about it, if a Director of Sales wanted to build a sales team, how many current managers would be chosen?

Why is there no traction? Because most reps don’t care anymore. The job has become mundane, repetitive and mind numbing, Managers have become little more than robotic puppets spouting the same old prepared scripts demanded of them from above, who are answering to the same clueless people above them and on it goes to the top of this crumbling top heavy pyramid called Pfizer.
