IDEXX reps continue to be terrorized by having to choose between driving safely and meeting with a ridiculous amount of customers each week (or lying in salesforce and writing that you have seen more customers than you actually have). last week at sales meeting reps were comparing notes again and it sounds like accidents at IDEXX are still much higher than the national average. Anyone remember the town hall call in sept 2017 where George Fennel told everyone that IDEXX reps were having accidents at a higher rater than national average?and that he was going to start putting gps trackers on cars of reps who had more than 1 accident? but he did not acknowledge that increased car accidents were directly correlate to when he imposed the ridiculously high reach goals (how many customers you drive to each day)?managers, trainers leadership respond to complaints from reps by saying that George has made it clear that reach goal problems are not up for discussion and that they non-negotiable so I'm creating this post to get a discussion going here instead. I have had several close calls with serious accidents (like most reps) but so far I have only had one fender bender that did not cause too much damage and that I took care of on my own without reporting it to IDEXX so I didn't jeopardize my employment. I feel guilty knowing that I am putting other people in danger when I am on the road. Anyone else? Thoughts?comments?

I remember the day of the road warrior. You’ve become a bunch of pharma sissies.

Not going to throw insults at you but you certainly are inviting them. As the other poster stated, you can leave if this isn’t what you want. If you are that afraid on the road, maybe find a different line of work or maybe try putting down the phone and focus on the driving. This position is driving dependent. We are not telesales. Honestly, the dashboard time is the best part of my day. My music. My freedom. My manager is an idiot, so are most of my customers, but when I’m in the car that’s my time.

george, don't try to change the subject. just admit that you don't care that idexx reps are crashing into innocent people like crazy. i guess the accidents don't cost enough for you to make any changes.

george is a robot in Birkenstock’s who doesn’t care about people at all. This should not surprise anyone. His employment speaks to a larger problem here.

when george fennel announced he was putting GPS trackers on reps cars who had "at fault" accidents, he also announced that idexx would no longer pay the insurance deductibles which is the only incentive reps had to report accidents. george didn't make any changes to actually reduce accidents, he just found a way to make it look like there were less accidents.

2 reps on my team (that I know of) had accidents that they did not report and they paid out of pocket to deal with damages because of this. The driving quotas from George Fennel obviously make the roads unsafe for everyone but George found a way to cover up the evidence AND save IDEXX some money at the same time. Way to go, George!

Little George is all about the lies and cover ups and manipulations both in and out of work. He lies about his kids and ex wife all the time. Everyone knows this idexx seems to like that type of person.

You think 5 calls a day is a stretch and it is causing you to have accidents because you are rushing around to get to FIVE CLINICS???

George, if you're gonna to make posts that are so obviously written by you, why don't you just sign your name to them?

George, are you now pretending that reps do nothing else than visit customers? You should be better at spinning things by now.

Georgie, you are the one who told us that the stats showed that IDEXX reps have more car crashes than national average and that crashes are increasing. So are you hiring people who don't know how to drive or are you just forcing us to meet unrealistic driving quotas? Why do you still have a job?

safety of sales reps is definitely NOT a big priority at IDEXX

Only an old person would use the word "sissies". And George Fennel is old. Hmmm...

I didn't report my accident to IDEXX but I was lucky because it was only a miner fender bender with not much damage.
