For those of you who have been rehired on other Syneos contracts, how do they handle your base pay?

Say for example if you’ve been working on a contract for a couple of years and currently making 78k, the contract ends and your immediately rehired on another contract. Being that you’re a tenured Syneos employee, do they offer you the same base pay? Or make you start over?

It just depends on the billing rate of the project you'll be assigned to.

So in other words, there is no incentive to stay with Syneos.

The only incentive for continued employment with Syneos is just that, employment.

One gig you make $78k with shitty benefits, the next $58k with shitty benefits.

    Take it or leave it.

Syneos only offers temporary employment. These jobs are meant to fill a gap in your resume. It’s a stop along the way for the unemployed. This company can’t offer you a career. They don’t even make the attempt to. Don’t take it more serious than it is.

For those who have been rehired
    Honest answers
    1. Age
    2. How many former contracts have you been on and were you rehired for same company- if so how long each time
3 if different company how long were each contract
    4. Area of country or state

This is why I am asking - just curious if has to do w area of country , age of candidate, the contract we worked prior ,
The recruiter we work with, I often wonder if the Syneos recruiters no longer get paid for a rehire?there is a reason I just don’t know but the more honest answers to these questions we. Can expose this company and they will have to change.
    1. Look at your people on your past contracts / I have been on two and I can tell you there were 20 of us total and not one of us NOW are on a Syneos contract no loyalty -12 are on other contract through Ashfield, IQVIA or PDI, Publicis that is not right upper managet should want to retain should help their people
and help good people keep jobs- Shame on you all-sad

I don’t believe recruiters make a bonus on a rehire.

Always lower. These scumbags have access to your past salaries with them, so they ALWAYS lowball rehires. They’re paid a fixed fee for your time, the lower they can pay someone, the more profit. Syneos is one step above human trafficking

    This^

Syneos simply looks for whoever will accept the position for the lowest wage. You could be the best rep in the world, and they will offer the job to a total rookie to save $1k on salary.

Agreed! Think of the 'contract company' business model and structure. Anyone who is not in sales still need to be paid. Where's that money coming from? The sales rep's salary and a large %. So, don't blame GSK, Amgen, etc. You'll only showcase your ignorance. Think. Should GSK pay for any contract company's admin, exec team, etc. If you're a career contract rep on your resume, what do you think that saids about you? Especially, if your numbers suck.

i think the bigger question here is why would someone leave this shithole company and want to come back?

if you have a good Syneos recruiter, they'll guide you as to whether or not you should even apply to a position where they know that the base salary is below what you are worthy of earning. That way, you aren't wasting your time and energy.

In my experience, the salary is funded by the company hiring Syneos, so depending on your experience and if its Speciality, etc it can be very competitive.

Syneos contract ended 6 months ago and I have never had an interview with syneos since the layoff. I have friends who have never worked for syneos and have been contacted for open positions in my geographic area I have to assume the recruiters do not get compensation to place a former employee.

I have been on 3 syneos contacts.
1st was in 1998, last was in 2018. Speaking with my recruiter Friday regarding another opportunity. My recruiter is FABULOUS! I’ve know her for years.

Did you burn bridges or not keep in contact with anyone? Network and play the game. Bug every recruiter you know. Be buddies with your past teammates so that they can submit you resume to their new HR. If you get hired, recruiter or employee referrals get paid. You know everyone is money hungry

Had a contract back in 2015. Left on my own after finding a job in Big Pharma for the last 4 years. Knew I was going to get laid off and started interviewing with pharma companies at least 6 months before I got canned. Found a new Syneos Recruiter that understood me so that he can match me with appropriate contracts. Casually interviewed and was last top 3 candidates 5 times- going to cattle calls in Dallas Twice and DC. I was practicing interviewing tiil the right one came. Accepted an offer last September perfect timing with my severance. Bad news is, this contract is less than what I made at Big Pharma and relatively the same wage as my original contact. 5 years ago. However I’m looking and interviewing already.

I am 60, was on three Syneos contracts, all Oncology...first one 18 mos at 127K, second one 6 mos, 145 base, third one 12 mos, 150K base...I found Syneos to be a perfect fit for me to wrap up my career, had been with Big Pharma close to 30 years, retired, then came back for a few more years.

Were you told how long the contract was expected to last? I’m part the most recent Noven/Syneos expansion. The original contract team is going into their 3rd year. The Noven people are making it clear the expansion team is not meeting expectations. I have another job opportunity, but thought we would be given at least a year to 18 month to launch this drug. I think it is a great product and would like to make this work, but not if they can just end the contract at 6 months.
I get that any Pharma company can let their sales force go at the blink of an eye. I just wasn’t sure how it worked at Syneos and was looking for more insight before making a hasty decision.
