    Layoffs and restructuring confirmed in Surgical Endoscopy and Energy. Seems to be a hiring freeze in sales across several business units as well.

    Manage to the bottom line, basic P&L focus. This is entry level and will never be a destination company. What a pathetic existence to be a disposable cost (FTE) , even worse is being in management.

    Energy, ENT, and SE TMs laid off. All energy associates gone. California reps all got fucked and had Kaiser taken away from them. Stud Urology reps given ultimatum of taking Kaiser job or leave the company at half the overall compensation. Lots of combined SE/Energy territories now.

    It would be a Blessing if a company instead of announcing layoffs was to announce additions of territories or opportunities to be able to grow and earn more If you would like too. Just saying .... I know it prob will never happen. Geez all we do is go in circles and never really have market share impact

    Incompetent executives, Nacho and Randy “I yell a lot in meetings” Clark need to hire costly consulting firms for every important decision at massive costs. First Boston next McKenzie. Consultants produce recommendations based off 5 minute phone calls with field leadership and TMs as executives live in a bubble and don’t talk to customers or their own employees. Consultant recommendations are left to be executed by the BUVPs, another group of incompetent yahoos that couldn’t get promoted to middle management at any other respected device company. Why are they promoted? They are yes men to Randy who hires the worst of the worst Shawn Moore, Dana Currier and Darryl “Never hit my number / can’t beat Storz or Stryker.....EVER” Rock.

    Tokyo engineering is living in the age of telefax communications and takes 5 years to make a product that, when launched, will be 5 years past its prime with no clinical data to support product value. In steps marketing and sales executives who say ”it’s the best” and “tell us what the doctors a say”

    Short Olympus stock - It’s an incompetent and unethical company who's main endoscopy products will be replaced by in home screening and disposable scope technology. BUT if you get passed over in your current job and want a management opportunity come here. If you are average you will be promoted swiftly where you won’t just be able to see the shit show from afar but be right there in it....smiling and crying.

    Randy- stop “liking” all the Harvard Business School posts on LinkedIn. We get it, you took a crash course on how to run a business that anyone can pay for and attend. Funny because you are missing they key things sales leaders need to be successful, actually knowing how to sell and motivate people. You have no leadership skills. You lead by fear and punishment rather than by motivation and rewarding sales. That is why you have had to reach your bottom line EVERY YEAR you have been in charge by cutting expenses by was of layoffs, comp plan cuts, and hiring freezes the last 4 months of the year. Olympus is a technology company that should be hitting the bottom line via growth, not cutting expenses, like when Charlie Goodwin was in charge. He was a real sales leader and motivated the entire nation and produced amazing results by rewarding his reps. Growth was immense and so were the reps paychecks. Now nobody wants to get out of bed and work for you. Nobody hears a peep from you in the field. Just silence and fear....great job!
    Somehow only you and Lane Kiffin seem to always fall upwards to positions you don’t belong in. Can’t wait to find a new job and get the heck out of here. Good bye and good riddance, life after Olympus is looking much better to all of us now.
