What happened in the vaccine division? Are they ok? I heard that they had a call today as well.

Mums, hope your hubs have good jobs as your like is about to turn upside down. There are tens of thousands of pc pharma reps begging for jobs, will you start over at 65k with 2 weeks vacation? Your arrogance and dependence on Merck has you in a pickle now, better be connected.

I love it! All you arrogant asses have this coming. Two years ago when many of us lost our jobs, you went around saying “they placed only the best of the best” well now what are you going to say. FU. Oh and we have a long memory and if you try to apply for open spots at my company you can expect a terrible recommendation.

Nobody will be applying at your company for open spots. Taco Bell’s pay won’t cut it.

Surely cc reps won't apply as you are required to work 8 hours in a row, imagine that. Although, you are familiar with serving food and wearing a name tag. Don't knock it, many of you will be begging for 12 bucks an hour soon. The previous OP nailed it, pure arrogance with your irrelevant meaningless job.

For those of us former Merckies that went through this two years ago, what’s the story? Dates, numbers affected? Handraising? Is the chronic care division going to be eliminated altogether?

The level of self importance pharma reps project as it pertains to this job never ceases to amaze me. The gigs been, at best, a well paying glorified UPS/catering endeavor for years. That’s not to say there aren’t some bright people working it, but come on! A little honest and objective self reflection would do a lot of individuals a lot of good

Im glad that this finally happened. The culture here is toxic. I will be raising my hand this time. It sucks being in fear of losing your job everyday. They did not give us enough customers to call on after the last restructure. There should be another one in a year or so. We are definitely becoming a specialty company. CC is slowly fading away already. A nice severance check will definitely help.

How many reps are going to use this as an excuse to not work. They will just blame it on morale. How is Steglatro supposed to hit its goals?

this is not only true it is probably understated...After losing my 6-figure Merck job at the age of 50, I ended up working as an assistant to a painting contractor for $10 bucks an hour, and coming home with paint all over me. You folks have no idea how far you will fall once you leave the safety and comfort of sucking of of Mother Merck's toxic (but financially nurturing teat. I have had various other bottom feeder jobs and found out how meaningless my Merck experience was...(And for those haters, I had management level sales jobs for many years...)

Many folks will go through PTSD and need counseling after losing their Merck jobs. Ultimately, after the shock and chaos subsides, (it may take years) you will see that it was the best thing that could have happened to you and probably saved your life...

Buckle up all ye' "separated" Merckoids...It's gonna be a bumpy ride...But Be Well ok? An Be Swell too!

You must a youngin'? One of those newfangled Millennials that things he's teflon...When you grow up cochise, and lose a job that paid you very well, (not to mention health insurance) see who you will be calling a creampuff...

In the meantime, have some empathy for those whose lives are going to change dramatically, and will be stressed to ever find a job with similar compensation...

When you're young a dumb, it may not be until your 40s or 50s until you will wake up see the light...

True, there are numerous laid off drug reps looking for jobs.
I went through this in last layoff and I landed with a smaller company and a better salary.
You definitely have to polish urself. Its very competitive.
Dont let the idiots scare u
U really should have seen this coming. CC is kind of a joke. Think about when Januvia is gone. There is no way each territory can pay for the sales force with revenue generated outside of januvia. Its just business right

Who the hell becomes an ”apprentice” painter after management level sales? You must be an idiot. And then you come on this board and tell people soon to be laid off that your career track will be there lot. I don’t think so. Sales is a numbers game. 100 dials = 3 appointments = 1 sale. Same for finding a new management level sales job
