New.....Product recall. New as in the latest is how I read it.

In any case, the timing of this looks really bad - two days after the earnings call where the CFO talked at length of the safety of J&J products. Surely they new this recall was in the works on Tuesday morning.

The timing is interesting. "Feels" like the FDA is focusing heavily on JNJ, likely based on the mounting evidence. Let's face it, too many of JNJ's products are under scrutiny for ALL OF THEM to be safe. Going forward, whenever a JNJ executive speaks in public, they'll be talking about how safe the products are. It's all about "story grooming" for the public. They figure if they keep saying it, the vast majority of consumers will believe it. Read the article and note JNJs response. We are looking into several scenarios, none of which are the product had asbestos in it when it was in JNJs hands.

Incredibly frustrating. Stock climbed to 136-137 after months and one news brings it down 6%.

I sincerely hope if you're investing in JNJ stock you have a 10+ year timeline, since it hasn't done much except float between $130-$150 for a number of years.

Of course, in for the long run. JnJ is good long play.

We are likely to see more States going after big pharma for the Opiod crisis. J&J will always try settling instead of the greater risks and costs of litigation. However, the number of lawsuits is expected to multiply and the costs to J&J will be substantial. Watch for massive layoffs in order to protect profit and maintain shareholder value. Make not mistake about it, employees will be exiting to address these costs.

Being arrogant has always been J&J’s strength. Ask your hospitals, surgeons, vendors, and customers. They all will agree.
