I'm interviewing for AbbVie and doing my due diligence. What's good and bad about AbbVie? What kind of salary are we talking about, bonus structure, company car, vacation, etc? Ready..... Go!

If your due diligence doesn't include talking with someone on the team you would be joining, you have not prepared properly. How does Cafe Pharma fit into your interview prep? You should already have those answers.

You are going to work in pod hell. Too many steps calling on the same drs that barely want to see 1 rep much less 4-8. Abbott was once a great company. Not sure what happened. Only take if you are desperate and need a job.

Salary depends on if you are a Biological unicorn as well as bonus and every other incentive. Abbvie has different classes of employees. If you are an Abbott original, you get a nice pension and retiree medical. If you were bought by Abbott and rolled in you get shafted sideways with no lube. They have a theory that if you didn’t have a pension at your old company you don’t deserve one when they buy you. It’s a nice subservient culture. Knee pads help too as Abbvie management loves to sleep with their subordinates. You actually get promoted for donning the pads. We do our own reviews and we have no idea what or how to exceed expectations, because managers are only interested in their professional development not yours. If you win the trip they take credit for your success, even though they hindered you the whole way.

Years ago I was interviewed by this district manager named C F. I went through a series of 3 interviews. Nowhere did she mention that this was for a contract job until the offer was made. I got really mad and told her this was completely deceptive and a waist of my time. I would never have even bothered interviewing for a contract job as I had quite a few years of speciality pharma sales behind me.
What's even worse she was also the recruiter for the position. She explained to me that her and her husband had a medical recruiting company. She laughed and said that her husband fronted it when they had to place a person at the company she worked at. She said it was nice to collect a recruiter check at Abbvie and have Abbvie pay her salary while she was at home working for her own company recruiting sales reps. My recruiter for this job must have been her husband. I would never have worked for someone who double dipped on her company like this anyway.
I understand shes retired now. Some interesting hiring practices at this company to say the least.

Your so lucky you didn't accept the job. Like every guy in the district you would have had to touch the implants and give your opioion of how real they felt. If you declined you got managed out.
