Don't know if you're asking me??? I asked in the above post. If you are, I am guessing it's topping out at maybe $145 - $150.

A little nervous with the buyout. Last thing I want is a check the box, big brother's watching type of mentality.

Have heard there are multiple DM’s interviewing. Post what you learn about offer process, IC, and salary expectations. Good luck to all!

what area of the country you talking about? I’m a current DM and have had zero candidates interview or apply that are current DM’s. No offers have been made to any candidates as first round interviews are just getting started. Interviews will go into Dec with a goal of extending offers before the holiday shutdown. lastly, I don’t even have compensation ranges to share by HR has not determined this yet.

The above poster is a prime example of why the DM position is NO longer needed. I really really hope you don’t end up being my DM. Dumbass

I was referring to DM’s interviewing candidates this week. I’m one of them so yes, many are taking place.

It’s called spellcheck and typing on a cellphone. I am a DM who’s interviewing candidates. I hope you actually make it to a real interview with me and perhaps you’ll have the same pompous attitude in person and the exact reason you won’t get an offer. For anyone else, all the other details I shared about offers, salary, and timeline are accurate.

How does a DM interview and not know salary range to tell candidate?

Well, we played golf today at Pecan Grove, and afterwards had a great barbeque lunch at The Swinging Door in Richmond! Excellent! Their brisket is always so good!
Yesterday I worked about 3 hours at the Resale Shop. Business really picked- up at about 3:00 PM! We sold a lot of merchandise, and I worked one of the registers.
I'll be helping serve Thanksgiving lunch at The Woman's Shelter next Thursday. I try and help them out each year. It's a good "cause"!
Thanks again to our VIEWERS! The VIEW count is heading towards 262,000! It's so nice to see that some people enjoy reading my posts!

Above poster and DM here...I’ll tell you why...we just went to DM meeting in Dallas a few weeks ago and we asked when we would have a compensation range and it was stated soon. As most DM and people in MS space can attest, reps that have accolades and relationships with current MS docs salary ranges anywhere from 140-190k. So, if BMS wants to pluck the best, they are gonna have to be somewhere in this range and plus to get good reps. Most reps are not gonna leave for no pay increase so it’s possible some reps would command the 200k range.

I’m sorry, but how can a rep ask for that much money with a straight face? Those are the people at my last company that they paid that amount to for a year and then demoted them back down from Uber specialty to family practice. I would bet the house that they provide direction for reps to be hired in at a reasonable rate. The Pharma job salary hoppers need not apply. This is a business that is going to need some fast ROI. Ain’t gonna do it with a bunch of bloated salaries. Try selling complicated biologics with incidence of death warnings. Those reps didn’t even get paid that much. You don’t have to buy my relationships because I know how to sell.

Salary is up to 150k based on experience . Interviews ( f2f) being held now and managers will review and send 2 or 3 candidates to the regional with offers ( as stated previously) going out before the Xmas holiday. I don’t know if all this is 100 percent accurate but it was what was shared with me in interview.

So, been in your shoes selling in rare disease, death, and black box warnings. When you transition into rare disease, it’s not just about selling as not much of that happens. It’s selling to c-suite and decision makers at p&t committee meetings. You don’t have samples or anything to sign to get back anymore. While the salary range may seem high, majority of these applicants have been super successful prior and held various roles...home office training, dm, managed markets. That experience is invaluable and the skills developed in that position is what is needed in these positions. More than likely you have been in pharma close to 20yrs so salary increases are more rapid when you’re promoted and even switched companies a few times.

i can tell you right now coming from MS space, if salary offered is max at 150k, you will not be getting someone with MS experience bc their salaries are like what previous poster stated...that range is 100% accurate at 140-190k. Therefore, why would someone leave a great situation (if unhappy then different story maybe) and products at competitor company for a lateral move to start over without getting a bump in pay?

Spot on. We have EXCELLENT relationships AND access (as good as it can get) and that should be/is valuable. Unless running from a painful situation why would anyone go backwards or move laterally in pay? Launching is very busy and demanding. Tenured MS reps are paid very well from promoting expensive medications. Right or wrong they just are. If a higher, significant offer isn’t tendered it’s a no-brainer to stay where one is.

Welcome to BMY Big Pharma! This is where they know how to Buy Rare Disease not manage rare disease. And it starts first with backing down your pay. Good luck!

I agree with both the OP and this person...whether you think it’s overpaid or overrated, MS space is complex and relationships established in these MS centers and with HCP’s who treat this disease are not like the old days of primary care. It’s a totally different type of selling and thus you’re paying reps for their relationships. I would almost bet 8/10 reps with MS experience salary range is over 175k. No way, he/she leaves if not getting a raise.

Those with oncology experience have the same type of setup. Disease state knowledge and relationships are important. BMS oncology isn’t paying 190k. At least I don’t know anyone at that rate.

I make 147 and will not jump for 3k . Perhaps they will hire good sales reps that don’t have ms experience at that range. I know someone gave me a shot 5 years ago and I didn’t have MS relationships . I have not had a face to face interview but recruiter did speak to me again and s they are being told 130-150

For those that have had face to face interviews, please post once you receive call for final interview. Hearing first and second week in December will be final face to face.

Oh to get into MS space someone has to take a shot to gain experience and I’m sure you got a nice bump bc I was at 155k when I left big pharma sales training gig to take a job in MS space. The most I could get was 160k which wasn’t ideal, but I had zero relationships. Now, 6yrs in with salary increases and 4 pclubs to my credit no way I leave unless it’s a raise.
