How much longer until Interpath is sold? Pretty sure they wont be able to weather the cut in reimbursement cuts.
Interpath sent letters to smaller clients this month outlining the financial impact of PAMA. In that letter, they informed them that due to the lack of specimens per day/week, they would no longer be servicing them. Furthermore, they informed the client that they would pick up all equipment and any supplies (tubes, needles, etc.) that they had provided. Picking up equipment is understandable, but retrieving SST tubes, needles, etc, is indicative of the pressures of PAMA taking hold. Based on the rumors, and yes they are only rumors, it is believed that the announcement of a purchase will happen in 2020 when further reductions in reimbursement take place.
