Welcome to takeda. The company that brags about being over 270 years old but hasn’t come up with a novel idea in a decade. The company that says they want to hear your input and what isn’t working, but really means shut the hell up or leave. The company know for being sub par vs other companies in the industry (ESPP, medical benefits, longevity recognition, 401k match, on and on). The company who tells people to uproot their entire lives and move to Boston so they can look like they are in the cool club without thinking about cost or retaining talent. The company who tells you that fleet decision was based on carbon emissions and not cost, despite taking away Mercedes from employees which have the best emission rates out there and not offering electric cars as an option. The company recruiters hate to try and fill positions for because their reputation is so bad. The company who knows nothing about rare disease but just spent billions getting into the market without having any idea how to run it. The company where you are nothing but a number.

Do what legacy takeda does-the minimum. You will not be rewarded for excellence, not like other companies. Just sit there and smile and clap. Say great idea when asked and try and stay under the radar while looking for a better job. Oh sure, we love the takeda values. They are great.

Your last 3 sentences are THE most important advice anyone can receive if they want to stay in this industry.

The first dozen sentences portray Takeda well.

This is takeda. Nobody knows what they are doing. We are making rash, impulsive decisions. We are told to go out and “sell’ without company direction.
If any Takeda leadership is reading this, know the culture here is toxic. Even long term employees are afraid to push back. We all know your anonymous surveys are anything but. Takeda forces you to agree or you are blackballed. Takeda has us talking with doctors and customers without having a strategy. Big changes need to be made now or Takeda is going to find itself relevant only in Japan.

Well said. Takeda lays off every 2 years. Never let your guard down and keep all options open for interviewing!

Takeda obviously doesn’t care. And apparently takeda leadership sees nothing wrong with it. As long as the surveys they send out, which takeda knows exactly what employee answered what, everything is fine

    Takeda has values?

Wow, the long ramblings of an insane bitter lost Shire dolt. You mock the logic of tapping the Boston area talent? You just embarrassed yourself and rendered the rest of your rants as moronic drivel.

    gotta be a shire fool

Right. It’s all about tapping the Boston area talent, just ask Gimbert.

Someone looking to join Takeda at Swiss HQ. Is it as bad as the US? Is corporate culture really that toxic?

I don’t think you are goin to find anyone on this site that can give you input on the Swiss site. If I was to guess, I would think that the culture in Switzerland is better than the US though.

Can anyone comment on the Cambridge location culture after the takeover? Is it still more Shire or it has been changed to Takeda culture?

I mock the logic of putting the words 'Boston' and 'talent' together in the same sentence. The ramblings of an insane dolt who thinks being close to MIT and Harvard somehow filters through to the pharma industry. MA tax rates anyone?
