Well would you look at that. A nothingburger turned out to be a big fat somethingburger when a shit ton of people were let go today.

I wonder of the 39, how many where TRs or ES? They probably fire an intern at home office just to include the “home office” in the update.

Well since this board is usually full of conjecture rather than fact I'm guessing the original commenter was looking for what Rable put out today, genius. But you go ahead and troll on. Seems like a very severe reaction to lower sales than expected. And how many were really let go at home office.

Clearly I’m not trolling. A lot of this could have been verified days ago when I said it. So while this page may be full of conjecture, it would behoove all of us to stay on top of what’s going on in bencoland even if we don’t want to believe what’s being said. Rose colored glasses won’t be helping any of us.

Does anyone have any idea what their severance package offered was?

From what I hear the ones here a year or less got a month and medical to continue for a month. The ones that were here for a few years got from 2-3 months with medical for that time too. Seems like they capped it at 3 months unless someone else knows different

wow.... with that horrible offer, I wouldn’t be surprised if over half said “suck it” and are now Benco competitors. If you sign a severance, you’re toast if you want to work for competition. If refuse to sign, you are then technically fire and you can go work for anyone.

To inspire the sales team, to give them hope and increase morale? Pay them. Pay them what they're worth. If a manufacturer offers a spiff don't take 10% for the house. Don't cut commissions on schools or CHC's. Pay them. Cover expenses, within reason. Give them a real CRM, real training, real marketing real resources. Get them Sirona, not because it's that great but it is needed to be competitive in the technology market. Get them ADEC, not because it's better but it makes them stronger. Stop Benco Select and give ther customers what they're getting from the competition for free. Stop taking from the Reps things like shipping charges. Give them their own budget got"grip stock " for samples. And get rid of Shivetts and while not feasible, CFC...

Curious if anyone has heard who the new sales leader will be? To the person who started this thread, are you still in the mix of interviewing?

If they are they're dumber than the former person. Taking ther role after all this? Either CFC is paying a load of money to get them, if they're still in it, or they're just not listening. No amount of money is worth it.

Give the boot to all Office Depot managers. They ran that organization into the ground and are doing the same to Benco.
Hire young, talented individuals who understand the power of social media.
There are so many old dogs just living out their days here, it is mind boggling.
Be transparent with the sales force, if there is a lay-off- send out an email, don’t post it on our file sharing app on the end of business Friday.

Curious as to if you are still in the process....
Have you had a chance to read any of the recent threads?

I agree. It’s time to get rid of the old Reps. They have and hold on to all of the good accounts. I’m getting so frustrated with cold calling to grown my business, especially when the older Reps don’t have to. It’s not fair. They don’t get how hard it is trying to get an account.

If you do take on this new role, you should take away some of the good accounts from the older Reps and evenly distributed them through out the entire salesforce. That would be fair and earn you a lot of respect from the new and old Reps. For the old Reps, you’re making their days easier and for the new, you’re letting them work with accounts. Plus, it’s fair and the right thing to do.

I would also increase the monthly expenses for TRs.

Fair? Why because your not successful? Because they are? Those "old" reps had to work to get those "good" accounts. They have to work to keep them. Get off your butt and out work the competition. Fair? What are we in second grade? Seriously you think that it's fair to take money "commissions" from one person and give them to another? Here's your participation trophy junior go work somewhere else or just find a work ethic and get your own "good" accounts.

You need a new career. The reason the older TRs have good accounts is because they earned them, work hard to keep them and have relationships with them.
    Go do the same

Sorry, but a socialism doesn’t work in sales.
