I so agree- This can be said about all Pharma companies. The days of having true impact and patient or disease based conversations has been over since 2004 when HIPAA came into play and the final blow was ACA and the Sunshine Act. I only have 5 years left, so will hold out. This job will never be what it once was and we will never be respected or valued again.

So I’ve been interviewing with Janssen. How much are the medical premiums for me plus spouse per month?

I read that the out-of-pocket maximums were increasing for the high deductible plan as well as the spouse surcharge. The reason we think the surcharge is reasonable is because we share the out-of-pocket maximums and it makes sense for us. When I read that the OOP Max was increasing, I assumed it would be from $4500 to around $6500. Has anyone heard hard figures? I line the high deductible plan simply because you can save pretax money for the HSA. I hope the OOP Max doesn’t get too crazy.

Ok boys abd girls here’s the deal:
I left a big pharma company - I’m in my late 50s, made good money, so I’m blessed.

just doing tax prep and for a family of 3 total, I will have premiums, copays and cost share for 2019 of just under $30,000, after taxes. Yup 30 effing K out of my pocket, Horizon BCBS, Omnia Silver, so a ‘mid’ plan.

you got a cakewalk with your plan so shut up.
