Just got an email for a new flex time position posted today here in TX. The rep will work three days/week. Anyone know what client company and product this may be for?

15 calls per day. No problem. This is 1990 of course and Doctors love seeing reps that's why there is open access now in all of the accounts. Glad to see Syneos is in touch with the pulse of the industry. GTFOH.

15 calls a day?? Did this asshole come from FedEx? That’s about the kind of call they will get with that expectation.

Is this J&J???? They want you to do 5 days of work in 3 days with very little pay -- no insurance or company car I think...
    Screw them

Obviously the metrics are COMPLETELY unobtainable. And unfakable too.
But that's how they can avoid paying any bonus.
Syneos was desparate to get this contract. CSOs are cutting each other's throats right now to get contracts. Maybe in a few years things will ease up after some go out of business or are bought out so as not to compete on price.

    This job represents a trend:
It's 3 days a week (nevermind that it'll take at least 40 hours/week to do everything).

So "officially" it's 24 hours per week.
Consequently this is an Obamacare exempt job with respect to Syneos having to pay an employer share for employee health insurance. They obfuscate by saying "PTO" and "401k", but it would take 5 years until employer contribution is vested. And a full year is needed before any PTO.

The IRS individual mandate for health insurance is no longer in force (tho it may be retroactively reinstated, especially if Trump is not re elected). But if you DO want health insurance you'll have to buy it on the open market (which ain't cheap in the age of Obamacare). And if you opt out and the mandate is reinstated retroactively, that is an expensive IRS penalty.

    Good luck to all !!

yes, that comment is spot on.

Also, client company is a very small Canadian pharma outfit with a very limited budget.
There is NO chance for being hired directly by the company in the future and NO chance of future full time status. They're trying marketing on the cheap.
    It is what it is.

What a disturbing trend I’m seeing in the contract industry.
Contract companies saying & doing anything to get the bid. Why not promise them 30, 40 calls a day ? It’s all an impossible goal!
More & more big pharma work piled on reps who are paid half what their big pharma counterparts make. In fact, with all the answering that has to be done to two managers, two email boxes, modules & work for both companies - the contract job is way underpaid.
Now that more & more experienced reps have been downsized or age-managed out, the contract industry is the recipient of a plethora of talent. Unfortunately the benefits & compensation are not keeping up with the workload expected.

what do you mean by that?
is that syneos HR or the pharma company person involved or the future DM of the sales group or what?

reformulation of 2 OTC drugs (pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) and doxylamine succinate to treat morning sickness in pregnancy). these 2 have been used in this capacity since the early 1960s.
generic alternatives available to this high priced solution. Crowded market segment.

This job is selling a reformulated drug for morning sickness during pregnancy composed of 2 OTC cmpnds: doxylamine succinate & pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6 and an antihistamine).

I sold the forerunner of this in 2014 when it was called Diclegis. It was overpriced as market segment crowded. Generics available. Or a patient can buy the 2 ingredients (OTC) at Walmart and make it at home.

Just not much profit potential, hence the low budget sales “effort” here.
    good luck !
