Can someone shed some light on this company and what it's like to work here as a sales person? Thanks

Run!! Don’t walk... this place used to be an incredible company. It has since run itself into the ground, hiring egomaniacal leadership and backstabbing, self serving directors. There are so many HR violations that happen here, it’s disturbing. Many lawsuits from employees have been shushed & settled under the table... Didn’t realize until I left what a cesspool this place has become!! It is very sad, as the product itself is fabulous - However, they treat their customers (doctors) and employees like trash. Not a recipe for long term success, and very ass backwards. All of the tenured, decent people left 5 years ago... and the mass exodus continues! Unless you crave manipulation & psychological abuse, or have a general lack of self respect/worth, I would avoid at all costs!!

Michael McMyne, if he's around you're screwed. His mommy and daddy got him a sweet job w/ their friend Humphreys at Merz. He went from sales rep w/ a small company to Director, Senior Director, VP of Corp Excellence, etc. in 2 years.

He made a colossal ass of himself on stage annually insulting people at the annual sales meeting. Sprint away far far away

Unfortunately, this is an amazing product, but the company is terrible. They let go of all the reps in my (huge) city, and have churned through reps so fast, I don't bother updating my contacts anymore. I am not kidding.
I have never worked for Align, but I work for a company that works with them, and the poster above who mentioned the HR violations was correct.
They have let go of some of the best reps in the industry. Former Stryker reps who came to Align for a promise of a better future, who were being micromanaged with 7:00 am and 6:00 pm check-in calls every single day, with the exact same question: How many ClinChecks did you do today? Over and over and over, beating the cr*p out of these reps.
The doctors HATE this. While they love the product, they absolutely detest the "Dr., can you finalize your case today?"
There is a doctor on DentalTown who was so enraged when an Align rep asked her to finalize a case because the rep needed to close out the month. The rep actually sent a lengthy email to the doctor basically saying that they needed the case finalized for fear of job loss.
    Run, don't walk.....

Constantly seeing jobs posted on line doubt it’s due to expansion.

Not the best gig, but not a bad one. Best Company in the Orthodontic appliance space, IMO. Decent pay with manageable territories...while I was there. Would have stayed if not for relocating. looks like Upper management is still in place with middle managers cleaned out over the last couple of years. Good short-term place to get your sh*t figured out, then move on.

Anyone out there have more to add to this thread? In the era of Covid, I’m wondering what the culture is in dental sales and, more specifically at Align Tech these days. Sales goals? Management? Corporate culture? Looking at the company and prepping for preliminary interview and would appreciate any input before making a decision to start walking into dental offices as a sales rep again.

    The Good
Paid well. Good Benefits. Manageable territories. Soaring Stocks. 20% YoY growth

    The Bad
The bubble is going to burst eventually. Reminds me of the old pharma model. Super rapid growth and expansion of the sales force. The old Align was more relaxed. Though the company is still growing by leaps and bounds, they have become HUGE micromanagers. You are chasing doctors to sign them up for growth program and webinars to make your numbers look good. Nobody cares if it is actually valuable. The continued expansion of the sales force is not warranted but they will do it to show Wall Street stability. The lab fees are high compared to the competitors. Right now, it is possibly justified BUT other companies are getting better. Market competition WILL demand a change in the business

Worked here briefly and the quality of life is extremely poor. Weekly region calls to ask the same questions, how many doctors do you have signed up for education courses & how many iTeros can you close? In addition to weekly region calls, plan on at least 3-5 other standing calls each week. Invisalign is a fantastic product, but Align is severely fractured internally in terms of support for both the field and the customers. Doctors are finding other companies are easier to do business with. The pay is solid, but the work is frustrating due to lack of support.
