As a current employee there is no question we see KCI as going the same direction as Circut City, Kodak, American Arilines and Enron. This place is just a total nightmare.

I have been here over 7 years and quite honestly I wish I left 5 years ago. It is a sinking ship and thankfully I have just accepted another gig on Friday.

Years ago it was a good place to work for. Now everytime I speak to someone in my district, we talk about interviewing and leaving -- which everyone is doing!

Out of touch with reality, out of time to make a change, and no longer setting the lead in wound care. That's my view

I've been with the company 6 years----5 years of that were good to great. I'm outta here soon. Too sad----it seems like the present management is trying to make the company implode.

I believe the mission statement changed after being floated to APAX and Canadian Pensioners. Reality, change and leadership come well after cutting costs, assets and design on a dime for a future sale. All with fairly little financial risk to APAX.

What more can you expect as long as we have Vince Marchetti here.

Made the top 10 medical device layoff list:
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but that likely provides little comfort to the thousands of employees facing down pink slips as a result of the ongoing layoffs announced this year. For some companies, like Kinetic Concepts, the job cuts are the result of*divestures and shuffling priorities. Others, like Welch Allyn, say the layoffs are solely to offset the cost of the tax. Either way, the medical device industry has hit a transitional period, and its workforce is feeling the pinch of the resulting uncertainty. -- Damian Garde*(Twitter | email)

Yeah, that always happens with growth companies. When the growth slows or stops they have to let people go. Same with pharma when a patent expires. Big layoffs always happen with big well run medical companies. Maybe they will get a new product and hire lots of people

I no longer work for KCI but you shouldn't group all of those piles of shit in with KCI IMO.

Well that was interesting. 1,800 people in a room for 6 days. Largest ongoing pep rally ever. No quotas and no territories for reps, it’s almost February.

You better believe KCI-3M is hiring. Tons of positions, no quotas and no territories mapped out. It’s a dream job.
****plus discouraged not to oversell anything to disrupt the 3m stock price.
