I just read in the previous post, Akorn allows some employees to "work' while vacationing without taking any paid time off.
Is this true? If so, nice scheme to not use any vacation days while on vacation.

You must be from ancient age if you just recently discovered this scheme.....

It's not about discovery. It's about policy. Ethics is timeless.

This is coming up last week of February for a whole week.
Nothing like paid like you are coming into work in the cold and snow when you are actually on the cruise. Right, CL?

I hope as readers we realize if you are working, you are not on a vacation. its an "Oxy Moron". Can't be doing both at same time. You are either vacationing (meaning not working) or working (meaning not vacationing). I have taken family to their destination and worked all day, so it was just another location that I had to work regular hours or slightly longer hours while everyone else enjoyed themselves. Just a different location. It may sound good to say, but not possible unless we have a dopple ganger, but then again it's still not really you. Loll

This scheme only works at companies like Akorn (corrupt).
There is no accountability. I can imagine an unethical employee on a cruise work for 3 to 4 hours max and claim a full days work especially when salaried. Hourly workers could never use this scheme.

And people wonder why Akorn got to where it is now.
At Akorn, it is not what you know, but who you know and that's why alot of mid career employees are walking around with brown noses while the ethical ones are not really appreciated for their value.

The company is corrupt and full of lies anyway and days are numbered.

Cruise is coming up soon (few days) but this person will probably take off even earlier this week with some made up excuse to work from home when actually to prepare for cruise such as flying out to Port of departure like in Texas.

Why you wanna know? There's clue above.

There’s no clue above. I want to know how this person gets away with it! AKORN is honest, ethical and committed to their employees. From - HR.

It's easy. This person gets permission to work remotely for a week from management, when in fact, it's from a cruise ship. That way, this person won't have to use any PTO.
Management gives special treatment to brown nosing employees
No clue? There's initials of this person above.
Another clue, this is not the first time as far as HR is aware of such similar scheme. I've heard of previous reports. Similar scheme, different person.
Just check the calendar of this function.
But my guess you already know and this is just a PR move like usual lol

Akorn is the farthest thing from being honest ethical or comitted to employees.

She’s been with Akorn too long and knows the game. She gets away at everything. Previous leadership likes her a lot. Because we’re unethical, HR will do nothing.

HR, really? "The company cares about and committed to your employees?" How many inches thick is the complaint file you have in your office on RB? And other managers? PUH-lease!!!!!!

Welcome back CL to Lake Forest after "working" from Cruise Ship Liberty of the seas. Hope you show up Monday to work or maybe you will make up a good lengthy excuse not to which wouldn't be surprising considering it's tough to do actual work after getting paid for cruising the Caribbean.
