Sadly, I've just received a lay-off notification. However, I will be receiving a severance package. I have a few questions that hopefully some of you make help answer: 1 Is there a time limit to get the final check? 2 is there a time limit (eg 60 days) to get the final check after the layoff notification? 3 Can this be negotiated ? I appreciate any insights regarding this unpleasant topic.
(1) That will be set by Bayer (2) After you sign and send in your separation agreement, it's within 1 pay cycle. (3) Anything is negotiable. If you were separated due to a company re-org, don't count on it. If there were other circumstances, go for it.
Question- if you do try to renegotiate a separation package they have offered, if they don’t want to change it can they for any reason rescind the original package?
