Someone posted in the thread "POA: Corona Virus" the following text:

"Fake news. They want to make our women lesbians and attack religion and make us work to pay off the New World Order. The MSM is complicit in all this. There is no virus other than the regular flu. They can't beat Trump so they got together with Soros and Clinton to concoct this scheme".

    MAGA!

My question to you: Which of you Assholes and MFers hired this idiot? We are sending people with the intellect of 2 - year - olds into offices, and then complain that they are shutting down to reps!!

Don't expect anyone to come forward...We have idiots in management hiring idiots that are like them!

This rep is indeed dumber than a brick! Fits right in with Kim Martin and Trump. What could possibly go wrong???

They’re probably really great at making conversation about football and kids. I’m fairly new to the industry and I’ve noticed the ability to make small talk and connections trumps disease state knowledge or ability to grow scripts quarter over quarter.

You are spot on my friend. That is one of the reasons while drug reps are not considered sales people by many industries outside of pharma. What you will learn very quickly is that offices use you as an order taker for lunch. Here is one example that you are expected to master:

    Restaurant: "Fred's Slurp and Burp"

Order from the menu by #

Dr. Johnson: #11, hold the onions and fries, add extra meat, add country potatoes

Dr. Meyer: #6, no salt, no MSM, add side order of sautéed mushrooms and garlic bread

Dr. Rodriguez: # 2, substitute brown rice for white rice, nut allergy, no peanuts please, add sautéed onions

    MOST IMPORTANTLY:

Betty, the fat office bitch and manager who controls all access to the Drs orders this: 2 extra large chocolate milkshakes with whip cream, caramel sauce, peanuts, 3 straws and an ice cream cone, consisting of 4 large scoops of Vanilla ice-cream dipped in hot chocolate and finished with a large, glazed strawberry on the top of the scoops.

She has to get these shakes down quickly (that's why she needs 3 straws) in order to get ready for that prime rib dinner she can't wait to chow down once she gets home. Make sure to bring these shakes and cone to her desk immediately upon arrival before taking care of the providers, otherwise she will let you know who rules the office! And don't even think of messing up the order!!! She'll cancel your next appointment!! She may also order dinner for her husband while she places the order with you. Just give her what she wants. There is no point arguing with her.

You see, once you have developed this skill, you are then ready to spend 20 seconds with your doctors before they hide in their offices, because they are "busy"...

As you can see it's a great job that will feed your ego and self esteem on a daily basis....

Thanks for the laugh! This describes my first year perfectly. When my manager was at a lunch with my two top doctors they left after about 5 minutes. I forgot to grab their signatures and had to knock on one doctors closed office door. Found both of them huddled in a corner obviously not doing anything except talking to themselves. They treat me like a friend and even assured me months ago they were never too busy to see me (genuinely great office, very different from your typical rude staff). So awkward collecting their signatures that time LOL.

In a disease state where it isn't crowded with reps I wonder if its any different?

Otsuka is like my kids kindergarten class. Micro managed and they try to control your every move. Hell, I feel like I have to raise my hand and ask permission to go to the crapper.

Never had such a pure laugh. So accurate. I am so thankful I worked from the early 80s on and retired - having covered office based, disease clinics, hospitals and health systems pre-credentialling. It was excellent. Access even with grumpy gate keepers. Real discussion, debate, solution oriented. Patient-centric long before they spoon fed that crap. Consultative selling. Long before all the bullshit sales models that everyone mimicked as the new nirvana. Etc, etc. This industry as far as sales and marketing..this gluttonous industry that made me alot of money is sadly, so full of itself.

So go try to make consistent, repeat high value proposition virtual calls during this pandemic! And when they release the hounds, f2f. Someday the commercial arms race culprits (name the big players from the 90s that drove rep value down with their brilliant greed-filled business model?) will blink. Someday. But not now.

So thank your lucky stars you can do what you essentially do on a regular basis outside a pandemic - very little productively. For those of you who try to put in an honest days toil- it, for the most part, it's not your fault. And I respect your work ethic. It's the history of the pharmaceutical machine you have to appreciate. Imho, be grateful. Pharma sales is a bigger windfall each passing year.

Well, for some managers and RDs the gravy train will stop Dec 31st! I hope these people are proud of what they have accomplished, which is really nothing! Some of them have ruined peoples careers by blaming them for and holding them accountable for things reps simply could not control, i.e. access to providers.

I hope it was worth it and you are proud of yourself! All that because of a little pill called Rexulti, which makes people fat, raises glucose and can cause Akathisia!!!

Wouldn't mind showing you the middle finger of my right hand on your way out!
