So true. The last company I worked for (a mid-size manufacturer) would hire people with no industry experience (young and older) and management would brag about how well these inexperienced reps were performing - many had stepped into well-performing territories and were paired with a rep who had been in that territory for awhile. In some cases, the inexperienced new hires were friends or acquaintances of the hiring manager. I'm now hearing about these hiring practices throughout the industry. Almost like experience doesn't count anymore and may actually work against you in getting an offer. Look how many job posts state at least 1 year of experience, or 1-3 years experience, or not more than 5 years industry experience. Crazy times!

Experience dosen't matter anymore because the experienced rep understands the fugazi and the Manager needs a "sheep" to hopefully brainwash for a while. They also need someone that they can "coach" and feel good about their fake role as a manager as well. The "un-experienced" rep will leave a decent job because they will be sold a "bill of goods" by the hiring recruiter or manager. They will get a "yes man" until the new rep figures it out and realizes how foolish they were coming to pharma but it will be to late since their prior job they left is long gone. This Industry only wants "sheep" and "roll overs" if you anything but that don't apply.

is Cedric still running this thing?

Depends, by running it do you mean collecting a paycheck and sending 1-2 emails out a month? If that’s what you mean then yes, he’s still running it

By running do you mean giving out fake written warnings to WHITES???

He does give fake written warnings to whites. I can confirm.
The problem is he believes that all whites look alike and he does not know the name of the people on his team. He often hands out written warnings to people that he doesn't even know who they are.
He does not call anyone by their names at meetings.
It is very racist to not know the names of any of the whites.
    He sucks.

I can confirm each of these statements as facts.

Cediric is a very sick individual who enjoys ruining the lives of as many whites as possible.
He should never be in any management role. LEGAL LIABILITY, big time.

    HR needs to investigate Cedric.
Let's look at his pattern - has he EVER given a written warning to a BLACK - NO, he has not.
How many WHITES has he put on the DO NOT HIRE list? a lot
How many BLACKS has he put on the DO NOT HIRE list? NON, ever, no matter what.
    Clear legal liability!

Cedric is a great guy. I worked with him at Merck many years ago. He is not racist. Sounds like a bunch of disgruntled employees. One of the hardest working reps I’ve ever met. And, I am white!

Spot on...but what will you do now? Outside of being self-employed, where else could you have the flexibility of outside corporate and/or Pharma sales? I only disagree with you on one thing...the industry has been humiliating for 20+ years. Not just Pharma, but all outside sales with possibly the exception of medical device.

Are you serious? o_O This is probably the weirdest thing I've read. I was shocked reading all of the "Cedric Hate" on these threads because he's always been uber freaking cool to me & my work BFFs. During any meeting in the last few years, some of my ONLY enjoyable (required evening event) moments were running into Cedric at some back table or outside enclave and feeling like I'd actually made an escape from Novartia. I'm trying to visualize him being the way you're saying & it's cracking me up. I'm not saying you're making it up, it's just hard to imagine.

I once had a meeting with this jerk, CEA. Only 7 people in the meeting. Lasted 2.5 hours. The very next day, I ran into him again and he shook my hand and said, "Nice to meet you.". I entirely believe he thinks all white people look alike (I'm white).

The only reason he's in any way entertaining at a meetingbis because he's grateful you want to talk to him. On top of everything else, he's a social pariah.

I'm cracking up. I didn't say he wasn't an air-head. I'm white, too and I do agree. He doesn't seem to know that he's talked to me previously...even when at least two of the conversations were long, interesting but somewhat probing on his part; (what do I think of the contract, etc.) Another even longer and had nothing to do with pharma whatsoever. I keep hoping that he's actually more involved than what appears. He's been cool so I've wondered when the hard stuff comes down if he's just the front man. I did not, however, realize that there were people who actually dislike him so much. First time I've even seen this forum & just read about "the list" on another thread.

    I agree!
These comments are so weird to me because he's always been pleasant to be around.
