I got a text from one of our clinician speakers today saying he heard layoffs are coming soon. Has anyone else heard this?

Is it time to start looking for a new job?

Definitely time to look for a new job if you’re at straumann. Fortunately got out a few months back, they’re going to take a hit and I think reps will leave when they’re starting to pick up business in a few months. Problem will be many companies are on hiring freezes and dental is getting crushed now and will forever be changed

If I were at Straumann I would be concerned. There are many clincicians looking at the bottom line and a $440+ implants has no business in the "New Dental World" that is approaching. This has given doctors time to review their overheard and material costs. They are speaking to each other The neodent reps better start gleaning their resumes. They are the first to go. Their biggest customer Clear Choice gone for the time being. The population is not going to run to get implants once this is over. What needs to be finished will be finished and the new patients will be price shopping as well as clinicians.

Word on the street is that Straumann and Southern are entering some type of agreement. Is Straumann getting into the zygo world?

Highly doubt Straumann is going to get zygo from southern. That would be a bad look imo. Why not just use southern all around instead of Straumann if you’re saying their zygos are good enough for Straumann to sell (likely at a higher price). Neodent already offers them so why have agreement with someone else??

I interviewed with keystone last year and turned them down, and the rm and AD told me they had zygo coming this year. Any company that wants to be a top player on the OS offices is going to have to start offering them. Straumann will develop them if they don’t take them from neodent portfolio. They should just take them from neodent and have neodent not sell them all together

Um, yeah, Per Reuter's. Time to convince recruiters that sales at Straumman is actually sales.

Rumbling on the street is that Straumann is going to start hawking Southern Zygo. Market is already there and bell ringers already use the product. I don't believe many patients are going to jump into and extensive mouth rehab any time soon. Perhaps they should sell the Southern root form. I wonder how long they are going to let Neodent live? Lots of implant retreads there...
