Chuck Cohen here. Happy to directly address the rumors that keep popping up on this site, including those posted over the past few days...

*The Cohen family continues to own Benco 100%, as before, and we are just as passionate and enthusiastic about the future of the company, and dentistry, today as we were in 1930 when Ben Cohen opened his dental depot in Northeastern PA.
*We did, indeed, right-size the company last week through furloughs and other changes, reflecting the fact that dentistry is (basically) closed across the country due to the CV19 crisis. When dentistry reopens, we will quickly staff back up and get back to business.

chuck is a good leader he needed to say these things to those people they will not stop spreading rumors about Benco we are not. Going out out of business!!!! It is a furlough people get your facts straight we will be hired back.

 

Huh? This isn't your board junior. And from what a buddy of mine that works at Benco has said Chuck is the exact opposite of your description. Stay off our board, we're finally on the road to recovery don't infect us with your stupidity to a) stay in the dumpster fire and b) your ignorant support of a liar and cheat(FTC & lawsuits). Plus a furlough doesn't mean anyone is being hired back. If you really think that's happening, your cracked in the skull.

 

That little fish continues to try and be a big fish in a big market. Never was never will be. Cannot believe that little loser is still with Patterson. I have known him for a long time and he was always jockeying for a corporate position thinking he could be that big fish. He has proven time and time again he is a worthless piece of shit along with silver spoon Guggie and long lost pumpkin head and Gugino....can’t forget Anderson either. They failed and took advantage of the loyal employees at Patterson. The stock will never recover from where Pete brought it. Very sad for the long time employees.

I know how fun it is to bash on the suckers at Benco, specially now that the tide has turned compared to a few years back. But I wouldn't be celebrating too much, Patterson still has a steep hill to climb, there is no assurance we will be OK.

 

Benco and Burkhart have furlough most sales reps. Are we next?

For those who don’t know, Benco and Burkhart reps on furlough aren’t allowed to have any contact with their customers until they officially come back (if they ever do). Report that sh** if you hear it

 

you’re a dumb*ss my friend. Furloughed means you are still an employee of the company. Furlough is a temporarily leave of absence. Furloughed employees return to their job when the job reopens. Benco furloughs employers to save financial ruin and cash in on the stimulus check. They get double the furloughed employees salaries within the check when they reopen. Patterson and Schein have lost nearly 50% of their entire market cap. Do you realize how huge that is? The last 5,10 even 15 years of market history has been wiped away... this is one time where it’s better to be smartly family owned over publicly traded....

This thread is for closers? Did you invite the Schein reps in? Most of them are former Patterson reps that found a better home.

The leadership at Patterson is still horrible and they have done nothing to change the no nothing branch managers that were brought in under the former MM. Too bad all those stock options the new hires received are nearly worthless, much like they are.

 

Stop drinking the kool aid. A company can simply eliminate the position for the furlough employee. Meaning you can still be fired.

Patterson and Schein stock prices going down isn’t the best but what we lost is still way more than what Benco has. Who is in the better position? Start updating your resume.

 

I would say neither positions are good to be in. Dental won’t be booming for sometime. Glad I got out of the industry when I did.

 

Advice coming from the guy who couldn’t make it in dental. Thank you for getting out of the way for the rest of us.

I’ll be honest I’ve never considered pharma people sales people? What do you actually sell?

 

anyone who says this is sour they never heard back from a pharma position they applied to. Yeah, pharma Rep’s have to look good and be attractive, no reason to speak down about their profession. Just because you’re overweight and washed up doesn’t mean you have to be mean!!

They don’t have to work as hard and look better than us. That’s a win.
