For those of you that have been with BI for over 10 years, has BI ever given the volunteer option to leave with a severance package before making final decisions for a layoff? I know many other pharma companies have done this in the past.

This would allow people to leave if they would like to and also keep many that may be earlier in their career. It may also provide some financial relief for BI if some people with higher salaries decide to volunteer to leave.

No. I went through 3 layoffs and 2 reorgs and at the end I wished that they would let me opt out. After I turned a certain age, they simply managed me out. Great savings for the company.

Yes, but there was certain criteria. Not sure if it was just for management close to retirement, but I remember my manager at the time took the package. I don’t remember the details this was in 2016

Thanks you for the euthanasia pep talk my millennial friend.
Unfortunately this jack wad shell of a company offers the same package if you have 10 or 25 years maybe an extra paycheck for the the year’s service
Unlike many real Pharma companies who appreciate tenure and offer enticing early retirement- they just soon send you to the gas chamber
