I’m sure there will be protocol changes in most offices. It will be interesting which company sends their reps out to the field first.

It will be business as usual when this pass access will always be a challenge

If that wind up being the date we go back some will be very happy to return to business as usual. I’m thinking our access will mirror patient access. When docs stop telemedicine and see patients in their office we will be welcomed as well...for the most part

I think it will depend on the state, but most offices all over probably won't want reps coming in until July. I'll be a new rep hitting my offices for the first time and very concerned what this is going to look like and what the expectations will be.

Access will be the same. Challenging but the same nonetheless. Any of you know how many deaths in the U.S. caused by influenza in the last year? Trust me, business as usual.

It won’t be business as usual for awhile. Covid-19 is estimated to be 10 times deadlier than influenza and there is no vaccine or cure. Taking extra precautions will be a new norm for the foreseeable future.

Making a prediction and wish I could take bets on it. Reps across our industry back in field Monday, May 4th. All businesses for that matter will be back in action on the same date. Physician offices will take precautions but back to normal by June 1st. Airlines will be back as well as the hotel industry. Americans and Europeans will be vacationing. Gonna happen. Take it to the bank! Or, you can continue to listen to the overhyped media which makes its money on dramatizing everything....Yes, COVID19 is novel and insidious. It will pass. So enjoy the next three weeks roleplaying and doing whatever the company has you doing. You will be back in action in early May.

Yes, pretty much. Most of you folks are too young to remember when HIV was at epidemic levels in the 80's & 90's. How about SARS or H1N1 SWINE or Zika? All a little bit different in pathology but pandemics none the less. You all realize that this is not necessarily about the contagion factor..it's about overwhelming the current healthcare system. PPE's, urgent care, and hospitals. This one caught the world with its pants down. The country will be sure to put on a couple pair underwear and a pair of depends moving forward. Long run, it's benefits our industry and patients. I can already hear the negative dooms day'ers. Listen to common sense. You all know what I'm saying is the most probable outcome. So yeah, back to normal.

Guaranteed! The medical centers are going to have banners hung saying, “Welcome Back Reps”. All the offices that were on the fence to about cutting off reps, see the error of their ways and now want us, at least twice a month now. We save lives, with out buffets, and repeating messages that come from marketing. Yep access will improve now for sure!!

A good amount of us will be laid off before then! Trust me this is the perfect time for a downsizing without bad PR, since everyone is laying people off. Optics are important and there's no easier time than now.

For those of us that make it, yes I believe May-June is likely. It may not be safe but we need to generate sales, point blank

Yeah yeah yeah. Optics have never been an issue when GSK lays off. Never! If layoffs happen it was already win the works. You do understand that our company, like all large corporations, have an annual budget. That includes employee compensation. Stop speculating and stop trying to scare people. Layoffs have been and will always be a part of this industry. As far as "optics" go...laying off employees when the company is profitable looks really bad! Don't cha think? Again, if layoffs occur in June/July as you say, it was already on the planning table.

You're delusional if you think it will be business as usual. People out walking run away when they see other people walking near them. You think that , magically, in 3 or 4 weeks, everything will get back to normal? We have no vaccine for this! There is no cure now. It's about staying away from others.

If you think offices in a month or so will let us back in, I think you are wrong. There are a few that may but the major health systems won't. IT could be 3 months. Our "world" in general has changed forever-unfortunately. They are already talking about how tables will have to be 6 feet apart in restaurants--how will so many restaurants survive that? Movie theaters? Not easy at all times to sit 6 feet apart..football..how can that go on-already talking about no NFL. And the stock market..scary.

I’ve already had mid May lunches cancelled by offices. No way it’s business as usual until there is a vaccine and we’ve all been vaccinated.

Ditto! Weeks ago I had offices cancelling through May, a couple others said through June. We just don't know. Not to mention, while this has maybe hit its peak in New York, CA, Washington, it's just ramping up in many states and barely begun in others. And yes, it is the contagion factor. One of these posts compared this to HiV?! Seriously?! That's laughable... Not even close.

I hope you're right about May 4th, but I wouldn't put money on it! I'm praying for some normalcy in June and think that's more likely.

    The furloughs should begin shortly

And there you have it. The last two posts are a part of the hysteria. Restaurants will not be moving tables six feet apart. NFL stadiums will be packed. Reps will be back in offices. Stop it please. The last post proves my point. They mention "furlough". By definition that means workers will be coming back to work at some point. By the way, Furloughs are not even on the table. Layoffs? Sure. Let me paint it another way. If the "rep" position is completely dissolved, there would not be FLLs, RSDs, FVPs, etc etc. An entire segment of our industry would vanish. Folks, that's not happening! At the rate your hyperbole is going the human race would cease to exist. I mean with tables six feet apart and people distancing themselves, banning sex is next on the list. So get a grip, take a breath and be reasonable.

Where are you going to call on these offices? From your phone or laptop? Damn sure not a F2F anytime soon.
