Before anyone attempts to assess who wrote this , I have logged in at a "neutral" computer in a public setting.

People say they want a frank and open discussion yet deep down, millions cower in fear as the consequences of being honest are too painful, no?

We are seeing the worst in all of us as we being sucked into taking positions by the extremes on both sides. White privilege labeling and police are evil type dogma vs those who immediately point out the seemingly non stop black on black genocide we are seeing in places like Chicago, Al Sharpton is a self promoting hater type shots, etc

    Does this resonate?

So, versus make public statements like so many leaders are doing(much like we saw in Ferguson) or to rush to a PR show like mollifying like the Dems are doing with the BLM movement, while, conservative talk radio is discussing from a cultural war posturing, perhaps we should all take a deep breath and look in the mirror.

Do I discriminate? Have I been discriminated against? Not just in skin color but in choices in general? Who I hire? Who gets promoted and why? What church I go to and why? Who I prefer to socialize with and why?

Are my politics running and owning my bias?

Are you sure? Are my politics based almost solely on how I make money vs say, the tenants of my professed faith? How my parents raised me or the color of my skin?

Don't let the extremists who are dominating the national narratives own you or your thought process. Why? We look to the national media yet the real change needs to happen in our hearts, no? Compassion, empathy and self assessment are good places to start.

As Jesus admonished the hypocrites in his day, look at the log in your own eye before pointing out the splinters in others. Mahatma Ghandi implored us all to "be the change you wish to see in the world"

So, Turn off your preferred cable channel and journal, you will be amazed at what your heart reveals
