Well, quarantine is bullshit and we’ve all become Stalinist/Maoist Sheep. When HR Directors are acknowledging and apologizing for their white privilege (saw it on LinkedIn today), it is time to get ready to exit.

Got news for you. That’s not what the Founders and even your Dad sacrificed and bled for. You truly are a clueless pagan. :p;);)

What does his religion have to do with anything? Are you saying they fought and bled so pharma reps sitting at computers who called to one of the more than 200 distinct Christian bodies in the United States could judge me? For skinny dipping? WTF is wrong with skinny dipping? What century do you think this is?

Find something to do with your time pal. You'd probably love to but wifey won't allow it. Talk about sheeple.

Excellent questions. Now we will see if he mans up and answers them and if he comes across as remotely honest on the Christian question.

If you’re talking about sheeple you’re talking about yourself. And wifey doesn’t control me, my sense of morality and good sense and my submission to God’s will does.

On the Christian question: My father believed in an orderly creation, however was not naïve enough to believe we know exactly how it unfolded. He felt a church experience was a nice thing for our family. We lived around a lot of Catholics and he felt their beliefs were a bit rigid so he selected a Presbyterian Church and we attended a couple of times a month. I guess he would have agreed with Sparky that whatever the higher creative power was, he/ she or it would want us to have free will which would INCLUDE the right to believe what we chose and live with freedom of (which includes freedom from) religion. So with that said, I am not anti-Christian. I have no desire to stop Christians from being Christians, to close churches, to ban the Bible, to forbid prayer in school, etc. (BTW, prayer in school is NOT illegal; *compulsory* prayer in school is - and should be - illegal). All I ask is that Christians recognize *my* right to live according to *my* beliefs. When I get pissed off that a politician is trying to legislate Scripture into law, I'm not "offended by Christianity" -- I'm offended that you're trying to force me to live by your religion's rules. We all get really upset at the thought of Muslims imposing Sharia law on us and that's how I feel about Christians trying to impose biblical law on me. Be a Christian. Do your thing. Just don't force it on me or mine. And if a president wants to cite scripture fine, I just think it would 'appear' more authentic if his references were cited correctly like he actually knew them (not like 2 Corinthians - lol); if he referenced Communion correctly (not
like 'wine and those little crackers') and if he held the Bible right-side up during his photo ops as opposed to just using it as a photo op prop.

    So there you have it.;)

Yeah, such as it is. You deserve credit. You stepped up to the plate and pretty much answered the question about your Dad’s beliefs.
Otherwise, sadly as usual your post is naive gibberish.
There is no escaping morality being enshrined into law. That will happen. It’s unavoidable. The only question is whose morality. The source of that morality is a nonissue in the sense that you can’t say we can’t enshrine Biblical morality because it’s Biblical. The democratic process should work such that the will of the people as best expressed is what’s codified into to law. And yes, we get to tell you what you can and can’t do. And I couldn’t care less how much it chaps you if it’s for the Bible.
The will of the people is paramount which is why you live under tyranny there in CA because of what happened with Prop 8. The clearly expressed will of the people was trampled by black robed tyrants and spineless elected officials who would not defend the clear will of the people.
And you can whine about Trump’s style or lack of personal Biblical knowledge but the FACTS are that he is delivering on much of the agenda that Christians wanted enacted and he is defending the constitutional rights of Christians to exercise their religion, whether he does or not. So as usual you’re all balled up with issues of style rather than looking at the substance because if you looked at substance then you would rarely be able to rationally criticize Trump.

Speaking of gibberish, you're the king of that. You obviously still have a hardon for Prop 8. Sometimes when a law doesn't reflect the will of the people, it gets ignored. Who really gives a flying fuck if same sex people marry? And yes, you can enshrine morality that is generally an accepted of behavior across the spectrum of accepted standards like murder that would be enshrined under most religions. What you can NOT enshrine is behavior exclusive to Christianity, like birth control, monogamy, and suppressing the uninhibited expression of inherent sexual desires of pagan origin that joined us genetically - the one you secretly desire yet are afraid to admit.

The people will speak about Trump. Both he and Biden bore me. Then you can crow about the will of the people being paramount because under your definition, either is fine as long as it's the will of the people, correct?

So now that THAT's established let's move on. What will be will be and I'll have a ball either way: It's summer, big family party w/ grandkids and exes, restaurants open as CA has a very low instance of COVID, naked resorts are opening and wine, weed and resorts are all discounted. The only thing missing is baseball but we can play naked nerf ball in the pool.
    Toodles Wild Man - ;)

Idiot boy, Prop 8 was the will of the people. Their will doesn’t get any more clear than Prop 8.
And you do t get to determine what can and can’t be codified into law. If the majority wants to codify any or all of the Bible then guess what? It becomes the law whether you like it or not and you’ll abide by it or pay the consequences.
It’s clear that all you’ve gone is beclown yourself again. One of the few real talents you have.

Actually, we run our state the way we want and you can run yours the way you want. Our proposition system has many Catch 22s. One example was the last election when a Prop to BAN single use plastic bags was passed and another one to ALLOW single use bags was passed - all on the same ballot. So when the Prop 8 one-off went thru, a judge kicked it and we just ignored it because that's the way we roll. And now the TRUE will of the majority of the people is in place and not enough people care enough about it to try and re-establish it. Meanwhile we chuckle at out-of-staters who have too much time on their hands and try to tell us how we should run our state and how to handle a one-off irregularity.

Oh yes, we DO get to determine what can and can't be codified into law and we get to determine to what degree laws are followed and we have many ways to challenge those that need to be fixed. We also get to sunbathe and swim naked if we like. Life is good in the great state of California for those of us who can afford it. ;)

Translation - I’m stupid enough to think I’m free when I actually live under tyranny.

I love life and live it exactly the way I want - which I could not do in any other state including yours. If that's tyranny, I'll take it. Case closed. ;)
