More and more people continue to leave Bayer from this division. Why is that? Poor management? What’s the cause? I may pull out of the interview process. I thank you for any insight or assistance.

Short answer: incredibly inept leadership (especially at the Sales Director level with Paul A). Also, the culture is not in line with greater Bayer culture. Lots of actions In Prostate division taken out of fear and panic by leaders in sales mgmt. marketing is good but woefully understaffed and under-resourced (see Dir/ brand lead for Nubeqa leaving the company literally hours b4 Nubeqa approval). New entrants into the nmcrpc and mcrpc space (from serious companies that know how to win) likely spell declining sales for this division along with the fact that a Radiopharmaceutical has to be given in office/hospital. Combine that mode of delivery (not to mention half-life issues) with the current pandemic and the situation goes from bad to worse in a hurry. Run, don’t walk, from this opportunity unless of course you don’t have a job and are desperate for a check. In that case (with limited other options for ONC jobs) you’ll fit right in.

the team I’m on in the East has had so much turnover and vacancies at the rep, rsm, rmm level that is somewhat funny. At least I’m still getting my check and not doing much less than I was pre-pandemic. Hope this helps.

You couldn’t be more accurate with the reasons why I want out of this franchise. Even the East management team is a disgrace of leaders. Dysfunction at its best as we like to call it on the East.

How many years have they told us that we would be doing trials on our oncology products? You can't be a successful oncology company when you don't offer any new data to align with the changing marketplace of oncology. Bayer inflates the goals and the reps are solely responsible. How many of us are allowed to bring up an issue with an account (Bayer should actually encourage as we are supposedly being "customer obsessed") These are things the organization should encourage but the managers don't bring these issues up as it's not aligned with being politically correct. The regional directors should be seeking out issues and communicating to upper management. That's too hard for them! It's easier to encourage the status quo to protect their jobs. Our customers slowly stop using Xofigo as they get burned and don't get reimbursed. Try eating 100,000 dollars or more while Bayer takes twice a year price increases. We lose an account which affects our bonus as the history is part of our goals. Our KOL's, MSLs, Marketing folks are not aligned because they don't care as it doesn't affect them. The reps can't even be part of planning meetings because they are not considered part of the leadership team. The reps are the sole contributors and the only ones attempting to bring value to our customers. How do you think the reps feel at every meeting in both the east and west as we continue to hear how we need to have another great qtr? Good leaders fight for their people and that's what is missing at Bayer. It's easy for the Directors to fly to NJ once per month. They don't want to get in the field as they're not going to fight for the reps as issues arise. All the reps want to see is a leader that they feel fights for them. You don't see that at Bayer "So shut up and do your job"

Ranking is easy when you see the East coast disaster show in action. Starts up top but then the only decent one is flip. Colin has no clue what he’s doing and the Mid Atlantic guy is creepy weird. Reed is trying but can’t keep one person satisfied and happy in FL. The guy who was in Market access Kevin is prob the weakest of them all as he hasn’t sold in many years and not a strong leader. This is his first time in his career ever having people report to him. Out west the only complaint I hear from a girlfriend out there in about MC. She apparently is a total pain in the ass and very disliked by her team and the managers out there.

Spot on. The problem with poor leadership isn't just the leader himself, but the lack of competent people that are willing to work for a poor leader. The turnover in FL/ GA and in the East in general is a great example of this. It’s been a revolving door.

This actually comes down to foltz and his lack of leadership. Actions eventually catch up with you. It started when he hired the primary care manager in florida, soon after mc in texas. Paul a, what an arrogant clueless moron. Rob had people in the sales team that were looking for promotion. He hired primary care idiots.

MC is trying hard and was obviously brought in because of exceptional selling skills and strategic vision.......... right?!

Hard to have a strategic vision when you dont know oncology. Micromanagement is all you have left.

This place continues to be one big joke. MC is not even Sales Consultant material. Her team struggles having her as a leader. You can’t promote internal home office people into Sales Management. It just doesn’t work out. The East team is a prime example of that. I am enjoying my Covid vacation out here left alone.

layoffs are coming as sales decrease with both products. We’re heading to 1 Sales Director and only 8 sales managers. Decreasing the field size and hiring freeze remains in place.

Good leaders spend a majority of their time developing the leaders under them. Thats a simple principle that was developed at GE. Good leaders bring up problems, its important to encourage open honest feedback for a company to grow. Its not rocket science! Yet if you look at Bayer its its opposite. Sebastian, if you have common sense set down with the defunct incompetent leadership. Ask simple questions, if they are wordy and answer like obama. Fire them! Set a tone,. Look at the xofigo leadership, ask some hard questions, "what have you done this week, this month?" If you get spreadsheets, simply fire the clueless morons! Heres another great question, whens the last time you've been on a field ride or in the field? That one will produce crickets! Heres the best one of all, have every manager and rsd, tell you the indication for the 2 products they are responsible for. That answer will shock you, at that point youll understand why sales and leadership sucks at bayer

You couldn’t make one Prostate National Director if you added all the current ones together.

Big void of Ldshp in Prostate at Director level, at HR Ldshp (Kevin) and VP Ldshp (Rob) This is an open secret so no one that works here will see this is a shock or being sensational. I’m planning to ride this out and hopeful that seniority will still give me a job after the coming fallout.
