After I left Taro, I was pleasantly surprised by how my new company supported its employees.
Very few people work past 6:00 PM because our workload is balanced properly.

At Taro, "if you don't like it, you can leave" was the prevailing attitude for years.
There was one finance guy that actually slept there overnight. That's ridiculous.
I have heard they lost a lot of good people lately, but MV is still there with her "no flex time" policy.
They treat their employees as if they were unruly children instead of adults.
If they don't behave and follow the rules, then terminate them. Don't treat everyone poorly because of the actions of a few.

They think that turnover saves money. People leave and are replaced by less expensive employees. They haven't figured out that turnover is actually costing not saving.

Work Life Balance is critical as is a home/flexible work policy. What happen to Summer Getaways?

Hourly people seem to put in their 40 hours with no issues, and if they have 40 completed by Friday noon, their bosses let them leave early apparently. Now that is cheating and those employees and managers terminated immediately.

Once the garbage is taken to the curb you know who the rule followers are, then you institute new policies that are not from the 1990’s

If you do it now, those who take advantage will use their trickery as to how to cheat the system more.

    Pathetic, no?

Which is worse, completing 40 hrs and leaving at 12 Fridays or being a salaried employee and spending 37 hours doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. All day every day?

Walking out of Taro doors was the best feeling. I encourage the good talent I left behind to do the same. Your hard work isn't worth it and won't be recognized, take it elsewhere. Executives at Taro need to re-educate themselves on how to build a culture of happy employees.
