Was about to go to Gallup for a open role pre- COVID. Curious what divisions are consistently making 140-180k+ at plan with a doable work life balance, no on call. Fine with 100% comission/draw. Have OR experience (not orthopedic) but dont necessarily need to be in OR. Trying to gauge if there are other openings I should apply to as postings begin to open- I heard EMS is decent, Neptune is a great product. any other ideas?

I know nothing about EMS but Neptune is not as great as it used to be.

A few questions to ensure your even Stryker worthy:
-Do you pick things up and put them down on the daily?
-Have you skipped leg day in a one week rotation the last decade?
-Are you between the ages of 25-29, chiseled jaw and abs, and a complete dumbass clinically that you couldn’t sell Viagra to a limp dick?

If you answered NO to any of the these questions, move it along jabroni. If yes, welcome to the team!! WE WILL DOMINATE!!

division is market leaders in US. Call is minimal and pay is really good (above your target previously mentioned) Only one company (KLS) tries to buy business thru unethical methods. Market is small enough that hospital RFP’s aren’t as severe as in joints, spine, or trauma

Good intel. thanks. assuming the other two are in that target as well money wise?

It’s entirely territory based. Every division.

The more geography you have, the better the earning potential, but the more time you’ll spend working.

Stryker isn’t known for giving people more. Why have one rep making 300/400/500k+ when you can have 4 reps covering the same territory, making 160k? It’s common sense. And that’s what SYK does.

There is nothing special about working at Stryker. Unless you consider being told how great Stryker is, how lucky you are to be working at Stryker, and love unnecessary stress...all day, every day...special.

You want to make 140-180k? That’s industry average for almost every med device job. Go make that with another company. You’ll get a car or an allowance, expenses paid, a better stock purchase plan, a better 401k match, more free time, and way less stress.

CMF is almost always on call and the pay is nowhere near as good as most other divisions. It's a commoditized product. Definitely potential if you're good but you're not getting Surg numbers even after the split.

Well that's a ridiculous thing to say unless you're talking about upgrade ops.

ALL divisions in Med device have commoditized products. CMF has Neuro fixation and basic core trauma products. However, they also have 3D printed solutions and Virtual Surgical planning that has significantly increased billing in all cases. It is true CMF is on all call 24/7 but that doesn’t mean they are being called 24/7. Most face trauma is put on during a surgeons block time so weekend call is minimal. If your call does increase, Stryker gives you sales associates that significantly reduce your work life. Beginning CMF reps make (Target) the same as beginning spine and joint reps. Tenured CMF reps with high market share territories can earn more than 90% of reps in other divisions. It’s not perfect in CMF but if you factor quality of life, company number pressure, and earning potential, there are not many industries that are better

Worked in this division for years, this is pretty inaccurate. If you are in the south, or in a major metro area anywhere- be prepared to get called in nights and weekends. If you dont go in, KLS or Synthes gets the case. Products are totally commoditized. Sternal was just launched, which is s shitty knockoff Zimmer/KLS with no new value add- its a contracting bundle item. Pay in this division is target comp, meaning management figures out what you "should" be making and adjusts your commission based on this. Fine if you are new to device, but otherwise this is an old hat division. 95% of the reps that built this division's growth in the early 2000s and 2010s are now gone, either by choice or from splits etc. I left trauma products and have never looked back. My base is over 100k and I get 10%, car paid, phone, etc. I would recommend avoiding, but thats my opinion.

CMF at Stryker continues to lose top reps and this has been going on for the last 2/3 years. The culture in this division went from being the best to a high turnover dumpster fire. They pushed out leadership that was respected and trusted and most of the tenured reps that built this division followed them to either competitive companies or companies outside CMF all together. If you’re looking for a stepping stone , great but for a future no.
