I think you can only vote if you're a member of this site. I say yes. He wasn't a very nice guy, he was a business guy. Those guys get the job done. Nice guys let things slide.
Area Owner. A person who builds up an ego over the years thinking they actually run the department and their job position title is literal in the sense. If the CEO was smart, we'd have a planner letting us know what jobs need to be done and we choose which machines to work at and just DO IT! Hot jobs first, back orders higher priority, and follow the list of which work order to complete next. But they want a baby sitter with an ego and no real power. We should have 2 waterspiders doing real work at all times. Not an A.O. that hurries up and works, then has time to walk around and socialize, then complain that there's too much work for 1 person.
He is a motivator for work ethic. All run rates should go up by another 10%. Then we should have stand ups on why the numbers aren't being met. No excuses. Work harder.
I think Rob is very satisfied with his current position. PMO is a complex environment and a challenge for any manger in my opinion. As I make my rounds in my current position it seems that many workers in PMO have cell phones out in plain sight as the machines sit idle. This is not how a company makes money in my opinion. As this is my families main income it just does not make good sense and I am concerned about my future with this company. I can only hope that the new management is aware of this and responds accordingly.
