Covid

In the lab it’s getting overrun by covid specimens. It’s obvious they did not have any type of plan to handle this!

 

Plan? We were lucky enough to get the supplies! GenPath has had the supplies for months now. We are way behind!
Can't wait for our TAT on STI tests to slow down because we are trying to push Covid!!!

 

Seems daily seeing more accessioners/temps in the lab to deal with all the covids coming in

 

We're hiring temps cause we can't find real employees to hire. No one wants to work here.

This place is drowning with covid specimens and looks nothing is going to happen to try to get it under some type of control

 

Get it under control? We barely were trained for Covid testing. Also our SOPs are a joke. Clients are calling all the time for results, I'm sure the reps are telling them 24 hour TAT, but that's not happening!

 

Why does management feel the need to knock us down all the time? TAT is effected across the board, we are trying to push covid through as quickly as possible but now our paps our delayed.
I'm surprised the sales reps haven't noticed yet.

 

I hear we are running low on swabs already? That cannot be true is it?

 

Running low?

Two weeks behind on filling back orders to regular customers while holding back tens of thousands for nursing homes and health departments.

 

He's right, but I heard this morning that we are closer to 3 weeks behind.

 

We just can't get caught up. Maybe if we didn't furlough everyone we'd have a chance.

 

Just do your job! Maybe when I sell something we could actually keep it. We lose accounts because the lab makes mistakes!

 

With all the temps hired to handle covid specimens can it work, is it a solution.......we will see

 

The temps are typically worthless. they don't care about the work and make a lot of mistakes. we're in for a long month or two.

 

Of course if they are temps you can’t expect “solid work”. How much will this company lose with this....

 

We were trying to position to get sold, but at this point why would Quest or LabCorp buy what they can take? Our Texas market just has IOPs everywhere that don't warrant having one, but it was the only way for us to get the business. Great so now we pay them $20 + an hour to babysit and do 8 draws a day? Good business plan. Just waiting for management to look at the "profits" of Texas, it ain't gonna be pretty!

 

“Trying to position to be sold”? With this covid crisis and the mess/problems this company has who wants something this damaged??

 

That actually was really funny! No we do not have anything another lab could just take....that's a problem.

 

Then who would want this place. If they did buy it without changing its practices with all the problems it has!
